Trouble in Tulane

Recommended Posts

Following their 38-26 loss to UNT the Tulane Green Wave fall to 5-4 on the season and with 3 games left in the regular season they could follow up their worst season in program history (7-6) with their 2nd worst season in program history. While this is still a respectable record the Tulane program has been defined by success in their short history. Tulane boasts a 3-0 record in bowl games and even took home a conference championship in 2022 on their way to a 10-4 season where they finished 15th in the coaches poll and 16th in the CFP poll. While the main stars of that 2022 season are gone and Tulane has new young stars that are still developing it doesn’t change the fact that the Tulane brass are not happy with the past two seasons after the peak that was 2022. We are hearing that coach Kgreene829 has a meeting with the schools athletic board and their boosters to discuss the future of Tulane and the plan moving forward. While nothing has been officially said and nothing will be said until the meeting has taken place we are hearing that some major changes may be in order for a football program that many feel has underachieved this year. We will make sure to pump out articles throughout this process and we have been given permission to broadcast the meeting. As of now a date has not been set for this meeting but we have heard that they want a plan on everything from recruiting to future plans for how the team will play. This hasn’t been confirmed but we hear the athletic board is strongly pushing for the solo Kgreene829 to hire some coaches to take the load off of him and Kgreene829 has not made any objections to this and has started to think on some staff additions.

We reached out to Tulane for comment and they put out a statement “We are really proud of what Kgreene829 has been able to accomplish early in his career. The first two seasons were filled with more success than anyone here ever expected from us. He set a high bar for himself and the past two seasons have fallen short of those expectations. We want to make clear we are in no way entertaining a coaching change, but we do want to have a set plan going forward so that he has the resources to meet the expectations he set for himself and everyone is on the same page moving forward.” We also reached out to coach Kgreene829 but he has not responded.

Tulane is going to be losing a lot of key players but at the same time a lot of key players will continue to improve as of now Kgreene829 is feeling a little bit of heat on his seat but he is still sitting pretty comfortably as reports are that he is not worried about his job and expects to make at least one more push for a playoff berth in the next two seasons before the QB clock resets.

As stated earlier we at PMP have gained exclusive rights to broadcast this and have even been given permission to ask Kgreene829 to address certain things so if you have anything you want addressed leave it in the comments for a chance of it being brought up. We will also have our analysts Rhaquille “Rhaq” O'Neal, Barles “Bhuck” Charkley, Lenny “The Copter” Smith, and Journey Rohnson recap the event afterwards.

Will you guarantee your players you won’t bring in any transfers to take their place?

A couple of questions for Coach @kgreene829 via our analysts:

What are Coach's thoughts on his future at Tulane?  Should the response by the Board of the Athletic Department of Tulane University and their boosters be unsatisfactory or misaligned with Coach's vision moving forward, is he prepared to consider employment elsewhere?  There are currently sixteen open positions within three Power 5 Conferences; that being four in the Big XII (Arizona, Iowa State, Kansas State, and UCF), six in the Big Ten (Iowa, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, USC, and Wisconsin), and six in the SEC (Arkansas, Auburn, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt), of which ten of these teams sit higher in their respective conferences than Tulane currently does in the American.  Other than program loyalty, what's stopping Coach from accepting one of these positions from a program in a stronger position, when he could easily bring preferred personnel, such as Paul McCullers-Sanders, with him via the transfer portal?
