Week 7 is wrapped up, and one of the nation's elite corners was tested by a very talented and big bodied wide receiver. Vote above for who you think won the match up as the Monarchs cruised to a 43-14 win over South Alabama last Thursday night. While scouts from many NFL teams showed up for the Greene/Gonzalez match up, it was ODU WR Carlton Moore who stole the show with a 7 reception for 228 yards and 3 TD outburst.

Week 8 Matchup of the Week

TE Taylor Allen, SR, UCLA vs FS Rayshawn Sano, SR, RUTG

Arguably the best player in the country, @Jmjacobs's stud tight end Taylor Allen takes on @TyroleanRaider's super star safety in a star studded Big 10 match up this Saturday afternoon. You're talking one of the finest receiving tight ends on a talented Bruins team against one of the fastest man cover safeties in the nation. Lets dice it up!

Allen has been a machine this season. On only 40 targets, Allen has 31 receptions for 746 yards and a team high 8 touchdowns. He's tied for 3rd most yards and touchdowns for any tight end in the nation, but also has 2 pancakes for the season, showing he's an all-purpose versatile threat. On the other side, there is the ultra-physical Sano for the Scarlet Knights. 35 Tackles and 1 TFL, he's ready for a big time match up against the star Allen. In his Week 4 duel against Notre Dame's excellent TE Torrey Barbato, Sano had 11 tackles while in an extremely feisty match up. He's more than capable of taking the game to Allen and we're excited for this battle.

We've already seen what Sano can do against elite tight ends, but this is the first time all season Allen will be facing NFL talent at safety, and unfortunately for him its one of the best Man Coverage guys in the game. Trey Perez is one of the under the radar but elite quarterbacks so far this fall, 4th in the nation in yards. He can get the ball to Allen, but lets see if Sano can stop him.

Prediction - Taylor Allen wins this one, but it's closer than you think.
