Clarification on Roster Limit Rules and Player Acquisition

Recommended Posts

In order to add players to your Active roster, you must be below the current roster limit for your team (90 in the off-season, 55 in-season). You cannot go over these roster limits, even temporarily. This includes offers to other team's Practice Squads, and promotions from your own Practice Squad.

The intention is for teams to make space on their roster before acquiring a new player, and the interface is designed to support this. Recently a bug was discovered where teams could circumvent this rule by using the Roster page to promote someone from their Practice Squad to the Active roster despite already being at the roster limit. This bug is being fixed. Any other actions that allow teams to exceed the roster limit should be reported on the Interface Feedback Thread so they can be addressed.

All previous roster moves will stand as they occurred; it is the policy of the admin team to avoid retroactive changes whenever possible, even in the case of bugs, loopholes, or other errors. No ill intentions are assumed and no punishments will be incurred specifically for the use of the bug before this announcement. However, any teams over the roster limit after midnight tonight will incur the usual penalties.
