2024 | Wazzu Backup QB Meyers Ramirez to enter transfer portal

Recruited during the 2021 season, Meyers Ramirez was brought onto the Wazzu program as a player with a high ceiling. After being redshirted his freshman year and sitting on the DC his sophomore year, Ramirez finds himself as the 4th string QB behind current start (Jr) Pat Niang, (Sr) Vontae Karras, and So John Kilgore. It also does not help that freshman QB Orion Lewis, potential future starter, is being redshirted.

Meyers Ramirez started for a spring game for the Cougs in 2023 as a redshirt freshman, losing to the Mountaineers by two points. He also had two passes complete. The quarterback has a high ceiling, but will certainly need plenty of snaps and opportunities to meet that potential.

 

Writer's Note: I needed some test data to test the transfer portal for the end of the season, and thought it best to use a QB who won't be starting for me in the future.
