2023 | SimNBA Season Wrap Up

Hi everyone,

 

I want to take a moment to congratulate @Ewadeand the Golden State Warriors for winning the 2023 SimNBA Finals!

 

I also want to take a moment to thank everyone for participating in this year's SimNBA season; and for those who participated in the collegiate league, thank you as well.

 

As we have now reached the end of the season, I want to inform everyone on the road map for this offseason:

• Starting next week, we will begin new development on the existing engine to provide gameplay improvements, adjustments, and new features (some of which are currently existing in the football engine)
• During engine development, the offseason pipeline will continue as planned. Meaning...
  • For the next two weeks, all teams will have a chance to extend offers to all players.
  • During the next two weeks, we will simulate the 2024 SimNBA Draft Lottery. We will provide the odds shortly.
  • At the end of two weeks, the interface will officially declare the season over and will iterate over to the 2024 Season.
    • New Croots will be generated shortly after this occurs.
    • The ISL League Format will change as well after this occurs.
  • After that, NBA Player Progressions will be ran. Players leaving their teams will become free agents and will be able to enter negotiations after the SimNBA Draft.
  • After SimNBA player progressions, we will be hosting the SimNBA Draft. According to the Logistics Page, the tentative date is the week of June 10th. There is a very good chance that this date will be moved. I will update shortly once I have more information.
  • Once the Draft is over, free agency will begin for approximately five weeks.
  • By the end of the FA period, we're hoping to have the engine development complete and all schedules complete.

 

Please be on the lookout for a new dev diary in the near future with more information on changes that are being made for both basketball leagues, the engine, and more.
