Tulane Spring Recap and Season Preview

Spring games are done so let’s recap our 3 weeks of spring and look forward to 2024 where we will have another great year of Tulane football. Tulane went 2-1 in their spring games beating Purdue 31-27, Georgia Tech 28-10, and then losing to Houston 49-16 in a bit of an experimental game. Let’s take a look at the stats put up by the Tulane players through these 3 games.

Ok now that spring is done let’s take a look at the upcoming season for Tulane. Let’s start off with the schedule game times will be announced later.

Week 0: Vs Oregon State. The NCAA put YOUR Tulane Green Wave on opening week so lets kickoff the season right. Please wear all green, let's show Oregon State how football is done in the Bayou and show the NCAA why Tulane deserves prime time games.

Week 1: Vs Colorado State. WHITE OUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NO GREEN. We know all of you are huge Tulane fans but remember that week 0 is the green out and week 1 is a white out. We don’t want a repeat of last year where every time we played a team that wears green our fans would be wearing the wrong color.

Week 2: At Oregon. In week 2 we are going on the road for the first time this season. Fun fact New Orleans has a higher population than Eugene and Louisiana has a higher population than Oregon. Fun fact #2 a round trip from New Orleans to Eugene only costs $413. Fun Fact #3 the weekend of May 4th you can get a hotel room close to Oregon’s stadium for as low as $65. Oregon is such a nice place and we here at Tulane are happy to help boost their economy by telling you all the information you need to make Oregon your next vacation spot.

Week 3: At FSU. It’s time to go down south to face a scary FSU team. This is the best team Tulane is scheduled to play so if you want to watch some real football tune into our week 3 game to watch our scheduled loss.

Week 4: Vs Memphis. We are back home to start conference play, show up and be loud as we start our quest to win the AAC for a 2nd time in franchise history.

Week 5: At Navy. It’s ok you guys don’t have to make the trip up to watch us play Navy. Only the biggest fans would go all the way up to the naval academy to watch us take down one of the top AAC teams. I don’t even know where Navy is so if you do want to come just pick a random state you have a 1 in 52 shot of being in the right state.

Week 6: Vs Temple. 

Week 7: Bye week. The football team isn’t playing but show up to the stadium anyway for a fun event. Someone let me buy a bunch of animals so we are going to put them in the stadium and watch them fight. What do you want to see? Elephants, Gators, Crocodiles, Horses, weird little fish things, axolotl, a bird we found trapped in a classroom, Emu’s, Kangaroos, Dave. We have all of that and more and are open to suggestions. If you have an animal you want to see fight then you can make a suggestion or just bring it yourself. Concessions will be open and we will be selling merchandise. If you do decide to come make sure to get your “I went to the first annual throw a bunch of animals together and watch them fight thing at Tulane and all I got was this dumb shirt and some dude’s arm” shirt 

Week 8: At UAB. I know you’re still excited about last week but week 8 we start a long road trip so come see the team off and show your support.

Week 9: At North Texas. Still on the road if you’re bored you can go to Dave’s house nobody has heard from him since week 7.

Week 10: At Charlotte. Final scheduled road game of the season show up to welcome our boys home after a hard fought road trip.

Week 11: Vs USF. We are back home so show up to support Tulane for the 2nd to last final scheduled home game. At halftime we will have a funeral for Dave who was found dead in his home. He had a ton of scratches and bites taken out of him and they said he died the day after week 7 of the season. We here at Tulane are not sure how this happened but are so sad to lose Dave. We will be wearing special Dave patches for this game and the rest of the season in his memory.

Week 12: Vs Rice. Our final scheduled home game show up for senior night. This could be the last home game for multiple Tulane legends like Haloti Thomas, J’Mon Marte, Montrezl Holcomb, and Kyle Are. Let’s send these guys off right, pack the stadium for them.

Week 13: Bye week. Find something to do. I am going to visit Dave’s grave, I still can’t believe he is gone.

Week 14: Bye week. I ran out of jokes.

Now let’s announce some redshirts for the 2024 season. We have a ton of faith in these guys but either they need some more time to develop or are at a position with too many other good players. We are allowed to redshirt 15 players and we still have some decisions to make but these 11 players are going to be redshirted for the 2024 season.
