The Acewulf and Alex Mock Draft

Recommended Posts

@acewulf and @alexfall862 bring you our 2024 mock draft, brought to you by Raid: Shadow Legends and with support from viewers like you.

Pick # Team Position Player College Acewulf alexfall862
New York Jets QB Hiram Maronde UCLA You don't trade up for not a QB Risky move to take a toolsy QB without a big arm, but if he's your guy he's your guy - especially with RPO/Option retooling.
Miami Dolphins DT Logan Lopez Houston Best DT in the class, Best non-QB in the draft Desperate need for secondary, but can't pass up BPA with DT Logan Lopez
Carolina Panthers RB Clayton McGee Florida State One of the best offensive weapons goes to a young QB With a growing line and a young QB - here's a RB to help stabilize the offense
New York Giants RB Richard Bianchi Hawaii Insane RB option for a depleted roster Good young running back to pair with a decent interior line that can factor into the passing game.
Carolina Panthers WR Paul Canha Alabama Dekoda Link is very happy WR on Link's timeline to pair in the passing game.
New Orleans Saints DE Whit Wilson Oklahoma State Off the charts DE goes to the Saints Pairs with vet Schaefer to give NO a nice pair of ends and 3-4 quality young dline pieces moving forward
Houston Texans WR Logan Njoku Kentucky They need someone other than Ryan Johnson on offense Jerome Morrison desperately needs help and he grants it.
Atlanta Falcons OG Alex Hitchens Arkansas Glaring hole at OG is checked off With Out of Position penalties coming into play, Falcons move to grab a true OG for the line.
Seattle Seahawks CB Jonathan Parks Ohio Fits right in with their CB room Continue here to flesh out their secondary with a turnover creator to add to their boom or bust coverage
Los Angeles Chargers OT J'mon Wolters Utah No glaring holes means that J'mon is staying on the West Coast Need to do a better job protecting their star QB in a division full of top pass rushers
Jacksonville Jaguars CB Sam Voth Illinois Immediate Man Cover help Voth brings an immediate top tier man coverage CB to help sure up the revamped Jaguars defense
Detroit Lions SS Garrett Smith Baylor Top 3 player falling this far is too good to not take Generational prospect comes in as a day 1 starter for an otherwise decent Lions defense that is going to see improved QB play as their divisional partners field improved young QBs
Minnesota Vikings ILB Kenny Daniel Wake Forest Another one of those BPA falling this far Vikings need someone to mop of the chaos the rest of the their front seven creates - currently only 1 ILB on the roster and Daniel is a clear standout.
Green Bay Packers DE James McKinnon Miami OH Packers needed some DL help and get it with one of the best Run Stoppers on the board Help needed in shoring up the run defense leads the Pack to tack a run stopping DE
Cleveland Browns CB Rashard Hilliard Georgia State There wasn't a huge glaring hole from what we could see, Hilliard is the last A+ CB off the board to Cleveland With no clear standout CB1 and a lack of youngsters at the position Hilliard is a positive add as a promsing young prospect
Baltimore Ravens DE Ty Bogdanovic Indiana Highly touted Speed Rusher off the board to the Ravens Best option to help cover for Robert Jackson's decline and a lack of depth
New England Patriots QB Andrew Solano TCU One of the best QBs in the draft going to a place with a timetable to get him on the field In a cap crunch, the Patriots going with the kid from TCU that can self-fund his roster position.
Buffalo Bills OLB Rasheed Downs ND First OLB off the board goes to a team needing to set the edge Having most of their offensive positions at least at a place of contentment, the Bills go to defense with a likely Day 1 starter given their roster.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers C Reuben Shazier Alabama Shazier might be the best OL in the draft. First A-, but a worthy one Possibly the best offensive lineman in the draft - Bucs cover the absense of a single center on their roster atm.
Philadelphia Eagles WR Trevor Wood USC Wood put up stupid numbers do I need to say anything else Wood comes off the heels of some top performances against the country's best college teams - but some limitations in having a top gear lead to him falling a little.
Chicago Bears CB Stansly Alvarez LSU Another really hard fit for player here with the Bears. They get one of the A rated CBs to help bolster the pass defense Needing to find consensus in their backfield and fit budding star Jehu Ginn into their best scheme - Bears set themselves up for odd front defenses with a man corner.
San Francisco 49ers QB Blake Smith North Texas Latimer is just not developing at the rate you want, Niners get a kid who should impress early 49ers looking to move on from the Latimer experience as his physical tools haven't converted into QB competence. Blake Smith has the best tools in the draft at QB left on the board.
New York Giants ILB Davis Covey Charlotte Covey is a do it all linebacker going to a team that needs someone to do it all Covey brings the best cover skills as a linebacker in the draft. NYG need a lot of help, but a solid cover lber should stabilize their defense.
Atlanta Falcons DT Phillip Bell Bowling Green Bell led the nation in TFLs last year, Falcons get a good run stopper up the middle here Not as dominant physically as his peers at DT that have gone before him, but still likely a day 1 starter for the Falcons.
Dallas Cowboys CB Zac McCutchen Missouri One of the best Man cover grades goes to a team with some good young man cover guys Needing a nickleback who can cover in man, the Cowboys take McCutchen out of Missouri - who was the only positive in one of the least efficient passing defenses in the country.
Miami Dolphins FS Kyle Reimold Central Michigan MIAMI YOU NEED A FREE SAFETY Desperate need for FS guiding this pick.
Kansas City Chiefs WR Arden Ejiofor ULL KC traded for a WR and this ends up being his replacement. Good fit here Scribner or (or Jan Miles?) needs some targets that can help their passing offense as the rushing attack ages. Ejiofor should still get open as he steps up in level.
Arizona Cardinals OT Francisco Smith Washington Arizona runs the ball, Francisco blocks the run. Done deal Arizona needs an OT to complement the rest of their offense which is pretty much settled.
Pittsburgh Steelers CB Chandler McKay Western Michigan Sneaky good grades out of McKay as we round up the 1st round McKay comes out as a top zone guy, to a team like their AFC North brethren the Browns, that doesn't have a top young corner.
Jacksonville Jaguars OLB Beau Martin Alabama One of the last decent OLBs goes to Jacksonville Jags grab a run play clean-up man to help solidify their defense.
Jacksonville Jaguars WR Matt Zavala Oregon State Zavala is underrated and he fits in real well here Matt Howard is going to love having someone other than Ray-Ray Thompson to throw to.
Carolina Panthers CB Giannis Wright Air Force 7'0 Corners are great and the new meta for the sim After getting married to Robin Wright, Giannis begins his NFL tour of destruction by leading the league in FG blocks.

Awesome job guys, love the color with each pick. How was this selected? Consensus between the two of you or did you take turns and write explanations?

J'Mon top 10!!! LETS GO MY SON!

Only thing I disagree with is 49ers going QB that late. I think they should see how Lattimer does in perhaps a tailored offense this year and then go QB next year, or draft some mid round guy this year (spending the 1st on another offensive weapon) and if Lattimer sucks, roll with that guy until next offseason. If Lattimer sucks that much, next year you enter perhaps the Savage Sweepstakes, which would be better than rolling with some mid QB who we didn't hear much about CFBwise
