[2023] Washington State Season Rallies In Recruiting Amid a Terrible Season

For the sole highlight of the 2023 Season, Washington State has officially signed two 5* Recruits: SF Izzy Nguyen from Texas, and PG Michael Blakes from Utah. Izzy fills a much needed spot at SF for the Cougs, who currently have 1 to No SFs on the roster; as for Blakes, he will likely be one of two PG's on next year's team alongside current freshman PG Harold Fong.

Izzy's skillset includes a fantastic mid-range jumper and a keen ability with passing the ball. The Coug's will need Nguyen's ability to pass and spread the ball, as the Cougs are only #9 in the Pac 12 in Assists. 

 

The Cougs are in the middle of a rebuild year, currently last in the Pac 12 and a 9-8 overall record. It is very unlikely the Cougs will make the post-season tournament next season; but fans are excited for the future of the program in what should be a fantastic 2024 season.
