Meet the Croots: QB Rudolph Carlos from Arlington, Texas

TXHSFB: Mansfield vs. Arlington high school football recap | Fort Worth Star-Telegram

Rudolph Carlos, a five-star quarterback from Arlington, Texas, has been making waves with his exceptional pocket presence and skill in running the option. A three-year starter for his high school team, Carlos has shown remarkable consistency and leadership on the field.

In his junior year, Carlos threw for an impressive 3,500 yards with a 68% completion rate, highlighting his accuracy and decision-making abilities. He also rushed for 600 yards, showcasing his versatility as a dual-threat quarterback. Carlos threw 35 touchdown passes and scored 10 on the ground, further cementing his status as a top-tier QB prospect.

However, Carlos' on-field behavior has raised some concerns. Last season, he made headlines not just for his play but also for his conduct, including trash-talking opponents and getting into arguments with referees during the Texas High School playoffs. His outbreak against a referee during the Texas High School Playoffs after a false start on a critical third down forced Carlos on the bench, causing his team to lose the game. These incidents have brought his attitude and discipline into question, aspects critical for success at higher levels of play.

Despite these concerns, Carlos' playmaking ability remains undeniably attractive to college scouts. His recruitment is being closely watched by several top programs within Texas and Oklahoma. The University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University, University of Oklahoma, Baylor University, Oklahoma State University, and the University of Arkansas are among the schools showing significant interest. These programs are well-known for their ability to refine raw talent and instill the necessary discipline in players with immense potential.

As Rudolph Carlos enters his senior season, he remains a highly sought-after prospect. His journey will be closely monitored, not just for his undeniable skill on the field, but also for his growth and maturity as a player.
