Another week, another Gael at the interview. Michael, congratulations on being named the Week 6 National Player of the Week. How do you feel about receiving this prestigious award?

It's an honor, it's dope that Nick got it last week and its me this time.

In the game against Portland, despite the loss, you had an impressive stat line. What was going through your mind during that game, and how did you manage to put up such numbers against a tough opponent?

The game is about a bucket
Team needed it so I do what I do and that's score
It was tough getting the L though but I know we coulda beat those guys

Your performance against UCLA was exceptional, especially with a career-high 46 points. What fueled your outstanding performance in that game?

Needed a win
We wanted to bounceback after losing a game we shoulda won we played angry
Got to my spots and flipped the killswitch

Looking ahead, what are your goals for the remainder of the season, both individually and for the team?

Individually it doesn’t matter I just want a championship
