2023 SimNBA Awards: Week 2

Secaucus, New Jersey -- Week 2 awards for Player of the Week, Defensive Player of the Week, and Rookie of the Week to be released today. 12 people voted in the poll this week (+1 from last week).

Player of the Week

Jamel Bacon - VAN (8 votes)

Bacon was outstanding this past week for coach @subsequent. He averaged over 40 points per game during Week 2 and was able to put forth one of the best games of the young season when he scored 54 points and hauled in 17 rebounds in a mid-week contest. Bacon has his sights set on a potential MVP-esque season.

Defensive Player of the Week

Larry Jenkins - ATL (11 votes)

The Hawks have been a revelation on the defensive side of the ball and in Week 2, Jenkins stole the show. He had 19 steals and 11 blocks over the four games and was the runaway Defensive Player of the Week. @Jieret has to be happy with the effort that Jenkins is giving on the defensive side of the floor.

Rookie of the Week

Hyun Xu - LAL (9 votes)

The dynamic guard for the Lakers had a great week as a dominant on the ball playmaker. @Curby4's lead guard scored 28.25 points a game on the week and also averaged over six rebounds and five assists per game during the week. Xu was an impactful player and is currently neck-and-neck with Robert Philby for the Rookie of the Year honors.
