2023 SimNBA Awards: Week 1

Secaucus, New Jersey -- Week 1 awards for Player of the Week, Defensive Player of the Week, and Rookie of the Week to be released today. 11 people voted in the poll this week.

Player of the Week

Moises Farr - OKC (10 votes)

Farr had an excellent week for Coach @BabaYaga. Farr averaged 45 points a game over the week including a season-high 62 points early in the week. Farr was also able to corral some boards and dish off assists to players when needed. This is the first weekly honor for Farr in the 2023 season.

Defensive Player of the Week

Jan Freeman - MEM (7 votes)

Jan Freeman had a great week on the defensive side of the floor. He was very efficient in stopping the other team getting to the rim and averaged four blocks a game this past week. He also added nine steals throughout the week. Coach @SageBow has to be happy with his performance. This is the first weekly honor for Freeman in the 2023 season.

Rookie of the Week

Robert Philby - ATL (9 votes)

Philby was by far the best performing rookie on the week and is going to be a very key cog in the future plans for Atlanta. @Jieret's point guard averaged 27 points per game and dished off five assists per contest in his first week of NBA play. Philby is going to be a name that causes trouble for teams all season long. This is the first weekly honor for Philby in the 2023 season.
