Conference Races

Recommended Posts

Here are the (I hope) current conference championship game contenders and locks.

ACC:

Florida State vs. Wake Forest

Already locked in, both teams have 1 conference loss and FSU is done with their conference schedule. Even if Wake Forest loses next week to Duke, they have the tie-breaker win over Pitt. This will be a rematch of their earlier game this season where FSU won 30-17

Florida State vs. Wake Forest

B1G:

East:

Ohio State has the lead right now, but if they lose to Michigan and Penn State beats Michigan State, PNST will win the tiebreaker for the division.

West:

Wisconsin just beat Nebraska and has locked in the division crown even if they lose to Minnesota.

[Ohio State / Penn State] vs. Wisconsin

Big 12:

Locked in. TCU vs. Houston

Pac-12:

UCLA is in with a win over Arizona State tonight. USC needs to beat UCLA in week 14 to get a rematch in the CCG. If they lose, Colorado is in (if they beat Utah).

UCLA vs. [USC/Colorado]

SEC:

East:

Tennessee needs to win either game against UGA and/or Vandy to lock in their spot. Georgia needs to beat Tennessee next week and then have them lose to Vanderbilt afterwards.

West:

Auburn has locked up the West already.

[Tennessee / UGA] vs. Auburn

AAC:

Memphis I think has locked in one slot. The other spot is too complex to tell as there are 4 teams with 2 losses: SMU/UAB/Navy/Tulsa

Memphis vs. [SMU / UAB / Navy / Tulsa]

C-USA:

Middle Tennessee is locked in at #1 and Western Kentucky is #2. Funnily enough they play each other in the last game of the regular season before a rematch the next week in the CCG.

MTSU vs. WKU

MAC:

East:

Bowling Green has locked it up with the win over Ohio.

West:

I don't know the tie-breakers well enough, but it will be one of CMU/WMU/NIU

BGSU vs. [CMU / WMU / NIU]

Mountain West:

Nevada has locked up first place. There's a tie for second between Hawaii, Air Force, SJSU, Boise State, and Fresno State. Not clear who will emerge from tiebreakers.

Nevada vs. [Hawaii / Air Force / SJSU / Boise State / Fresno State]

Sun Belt:

Marshall has one spot. Georgia Southern has the tiebreaker over App State for the other slot, but needs to beat GAST to secure it. App State needs to beat CCU and have GASO lose.

Marshall vs. [App State / Georgia Southern]

For the MAC:

NIU hosts Ball State in Week 13.

  • If NIU wins, WMU is eliminated.
  • If Ball State wins, NIU is eliminated.

WMU plays at CMU Week 14.

  • If WMU wins, they win the West division if Ball State beat NIU (Tie conf. record, H2H vs. CMU). Otherwise, NIU is in. (CMU/NIU/WMU 3-way tie, NIU wins with best division record [Tiebreaker #2])
  • If CMU wins, they win the West outright.

Thanks to @PoopyRhinoPickle for setting me straight on how to read Tiebreaker #2 properly.
