Atlanta, GA

Welcome back to the Elite 11, ran by QB Coach Jim Jebow. “Time for our last regional, all the quarterbacks of the southeast! One last shot to impress all us coaches before we head to the film room and then run the Finals!”

Connor Vierstra - Football - Marietta College Athletics

Sargeant Slaughter, MVP,” said Jebow. “Not one of the Atlanta boys, this guy came down from the Chattahoochee forest and dominated this regional. He’s a machine, ready right now and just cold blooded on the field. Doesn’t have the best form, but man he’s a competitor, he’s got all kinds of leadership, and he’s incredibly disciplined. Loved having him and watching him throw this week.”

“Great day for me,” said Slaughter. “Short drive down, spent the night in a hotel yesterday. Man Georgia fans are crazy, signed some autographs in the hotel lobby before coming out to throw. It was easy out there, coaches were real good, but all my training put me in a great spot to succeed. I’m coming to nationals to win that too, Go Dawgs!”

“Our other qualifier,” said Jebow, “is none other than Jacksonville’s finest and Quarterback Royalty, Maximillian Howard. Much like his NFL brother Matt, this kid is a beast. Huge arm, great touch, and athletic as all get out. Maybe not the most hardworking guy at the camp, and a bit tough to coach, but he’s like a wild horse. I’d rather him play with freedom than try to break him in.”

“Sick, sick day for me and the homies,” said Howard. “Had a freaking blast out there, but one thing, I hate that Sargeant guy. What a stupid name, I’m gonna roll him at finals. That’s it. Go Gata.”

“One more guy,” said Jebow, “couldn’t say no to taking 3 in the Southeast. It had to be Tony Smith, from tiny Thomaston about an hour and half south of here. He’s gritty, got that twang in his speech and a real nice flick of the wrist. We had to see more, guy looks like he could be something down the line.”

“Honestly, just shocked they picked me,” said Smith. “I’m just a kid from the south, playing some tough Georgia High School football. Did my best at the camp and the coaches went for me. It’ll be nice having a pitstop in Nashville to perform at the finals before heading over to Memphis and playing there my next 4 years.”

“Insane showing from all the young men of the southeast this year,” said Jebow. “Truly crazy. What a tour, what a job getting to meet all these talented young men. 12 spots to filled, 8 remaining. Time to go to the film room and make our final selections.”
