Tulsa

6-2 (3-2)

Preseason Expectations:

Win the conference, fringe playoff discussion

Report Card Grade:

B. Ukelele was a surprise dud, but the rest of the team has looked fairly good

 

North Texas

5-3 (3-2)

Preseason Expectations:

Battling with Tulsa for the conference crown, potential to get ranked with Blake Smith and Rishard Ward

Report Card Grade:

B-, actually have a tough schedule and haven't looked bad in any game. A coach could have them at 7-1 right now

 

Temple

5-3 (2-2)

Preseason Expectations:

Try to replace Don Scott. Still enough talent for top grouping in the conference.

Report Card Grade:

B+, a couple solid wins, they are a genuinely tough out for anybody, but not consistent

 

Tulane

5-4 (2-3)

Preseason Expectations:

Meme up the place with stat-padding passing yardage and sticking a horseshoe up their ass to win blue chip croot battles. Not the most talented roster rn, so 7ish wins and mid-tier in conference.

Report Card Grade:

C+, bang on about how it's gone. Big win against SJSU and IND early, but have been faltering as of late. Get a bowl and focus on next year

 

Navy

5-3 (3-2)

Preseason Expectations:

Ride a good defense to the top half of the conference and a middling bowl.

Report Card Grade:

B, Being smoked by ND is understandable, as is a close loss to Memphis. SMU loss stings, but they are definitely one of the better conference teams this year.

 

SMU

6-2 (4-0)

Preseason Expectations:

Mid. Good OL, but didn't think they'd do much with it. 

Report Card Grade:

B+, took two weird OOC losses early to not great teams, but have beaten some quite good teams in conference. A- if they beat Tulsa on Saturday as they'll be almost locked in to the CCG. B if they lose

 

UAB

6-3 (4-1)

Preseason Expectations:

Straight average. Above-average talent but 7 wins predicted

Report Card Grade:

B, they lost to UMass which is embarrassing and got blown out by UNT. But they're 4-1 in conference and already bowl eligible which is better than most of the conference can say.

 

Florida Atlantic

2-6 (1-3)

Preseason Expectations:

Exactly middle of the conference. Nothing really special about them. 

Report Card Grade:

D+, lost to a bunch of bad teams and then randomly upset a ranked Tulsa squad. 

 

Memphis

7-1 (4-1)

Preseason Expectations:

I thought their DL was their calling card and they'd be mid.

Report Card Grade:

A-, Actually their passing game has been on fire and they're a ranked team. All their games have been close though and I expect them to drop a few more.

 

UTSA

3-5 (1-3)

Preseason Expectations:

Don't care, they won't be good.

Report Card Grade:

C, they aren't. But they beat Tulane lol

 

East Carolina

2-7 (2-3)

Preseason Expectations:

Towards the bottom of the conference, didn't think they had much talent. Coaching though could make up the deficit?

Report Card Grade:

C-, tough OOC that they predictably lost. At least they beat UTSA and FAU.

 

Charlotte

3-6 (2-3)

Preseason Expectations:

ctrl+C, ctrl+V ECU section but without a coach.

Report Card Grade:

C, a few surprisingly competitive games, but didn't actually pull off the upsets. As predicted

 

South Florida

1-7 (0-5)

Preseason Expectations:

In the nicest possible way... I thought they'd be trash.

Report Card Grade:

D, they have been. Duke just sucks more. At least most losses are close

 

Rice

2-5 (2-3)

Preseason Expectations:

Very bad, worst in the conference.

Report Card Grade:

Why are they playing PNST and BAYL? They'd better have been paid. A few actual wins means they aren't bottom of the conference. C+ with Rice.
