2023 | SimNBA Draft Update | Delay & Consolation Picks

Hi everyone,

 

I'm addressing two things:

• There are outstanding trades which were made in the 2021 involving draft picks which previously weren't honored when we migrated the data from Google Sheets to the Interface. Because of how progressions went when we migrated over the SimNBA teams and generated teams for the 2022 teams, our original plan was to do a soft reset. While we understood that some teams are frustrated, it was because the nature of this draft involves several talented players of which an average draft would have as outliers or 'Top 3 overall draft talents'. AKA, a very, very deep draft. Either way, the SimNBA team have decided to offer consolation picks for all teams who traded a pick during the 2021 season. These picks are placed in-between the 1st and 2nd Round of the draft and are 18 in total. The order of the picks is done in standings order from the 2021.
• The Draft is being delayed another week to the 18th in order to give myself and the Staff time to properly test the Draft Page, and to allow teams to adjust their Draft Day plans with the new Consolation Picks.

Compensation Pick Rules:

• If your team received a pick as part of a trade in 2021, but didn’t get the pick when we conducted the draft lottery, your team was rewarded a compensatory pick.
  If your team was offered a compensatory pick, please use the pick to draft a player as with any ordinary pick.
• Compensatory picks cannot be traded. Any trades involving a compensatory pick will be vetoed.

Here is the new order as of five minutes ago, I'm not going to offer any more compensation picks or make any final adjustments in preparation for the Draft:
