Coach Ape: “I’ll open this by saying this is a tough week. I don’t want anyone placing the blame on any of the players. My gameplan let them down plain and simple. I do have an update on Tevon Daniels to share, he will be out for 4 weeks. We will be going on a game by game basis at Center. We will be giving Willie Watts the first crack starting. A big ask for a true Freshman but we will push through. 
 

As for the elephant in the room, yes I am aware that you need to sign recruits to keep your program going. I’m preaching some patience please, we are very close to getting our first letters of intent signed.

Congrats on a great start to the season before this. What do you think was the difference between this and your first 5 games?

Do you still think this team has a chance to contend for the MAC?

Thank you. I wanted to ease Steven Diaz back in after missing last week, so I went more run heavy this week. Clearly Buffalo was anticipating it and I was out smarted. We also might have been running on some really good luck, can’t win every one possession game.

I believe we are one of the top programs in the MAC this year. The conference can be won with a blemish on our record and I’m still preparing our guys to compete for that conference title

Why do you think croots haven't been receptive to your sales pitch thus far? Will this loss jeopardize that further?

I’ll be honest here. We didn’t get a good start to recruiting. My staff wasn’t prepared for it and that’s once again on me. I think that we’re on track to getting a good class of recruits still. We have a lot of traction on some really promising recruits. I think we’ll start seeing our first signings next week. 
 

I don’t think a 3 point OT loss will have much of an effect on our process, we’re still putting in the work we need to the rest of this week.
