Bears wide receiver avoids an incoming Giants linebacker for a 21-yard reception as the Bears defeat the Giants 22-0

Another week, yet another Bears win. And there is much to rejoice in the Bears camp, as it is something that is of the highest rarity -- even more huge against a team like the Giants. With so much uncertainty with the team coming into the week, the Bears used that to their advantage on the road, no less. The Bears played particularly well this week as they kept the Giants away from scoring any points. Not many people expected the Bears to win by such a big margin, let alone shut out a team like the Giants. It was a laughter for the Bears as they did manage to score 22 points and find some holes in the defense that helped propel the team toward yet another victory.

This game turned out to be the first game for the top QB in the draft, Wilfredo Joseph. Unfortunately for him, it was a game to forget.

The Bears were practically on fire for the game, some might say almost perfect. The offense became a huge boon for the team, as they managed to take down the defense by storm. The Bears managed to score two touchdowns in the first half, both scored by the rookies Pat Flexen and Jackson Frietas. After taking the lead early on in the game, the Bears managed to never look back. The team even took advantage of a blocked punt by managing to grab a safety. It wasn't a big second half, but it was enough for the victory. This win, however, did not come without lows. The Bears did manage to lose out on their star QB Gerald Lewis sometime during the first quarter, who will be out for 3 weeks. Unfortunately for the Bears, their backup Monty Turner wasn't as good as Lewis was. The Bears hope that this isn't a sign to come for the Bears. Head coach nemolee.exe had this to say:

"We were perfect during the game against the Giants. Any coach would love it if they were on the better end of a shutout. Sure, we lost our starter quarterback, but we did not let that deter that. I hope we keep that energy come the next game."

POTG: RB Pat Flexen - 30 attempts, 170 yards, 5.67 YPA,1 rushing TD, 4 catches, 5 yards, 1.25 YPC
Player of the Game

It seems like nemolee.exe made a good choice in switching up his RB1. Because, for the second time in a row, Pat Flexen gains the honors of not only the Offensive Player of the Game but also the Player of the Game honors. This game is actually way better for Flexen than his showing during the first start, rushing for a whopping 170 yards. To add onto that, this also includes the one rushing touchdown that he has had -- a six-yard touchdown that would mark the first touchdown of his career. It seems like if he continues this insane trajectory, he has for the rest of the season, the Bears offense will be in good hands in the run game.

Not many stat sheets jump out for the Bears on defense, but it seems like both Karl Ogles and Reyes Dzul had themselves an okay game. Ogles was good for 4 tackles, including one assist, 0.5 sacks, and also forced a fumble off of the Giants' offense. Meanwhile, Reyes Dzul decimated the offensive line for the New York Giants. They have 3 tackles, and one assist, and were good for a total of 3.5 sacks. It seemed like both could be considered as co-DPOTG this week, given that they had the most movement out of the rest of the team today.

Detroit Lions cornerback Michael Frizzell breaks up a pass intended for Vikings wide receiver Adrian Daniels as the Lions defeat the Vikings 20-10

Rival Check

Depending on who you ask, today was probably a good day for the NFC North.

It was yet another unfortunate game for the Vikings and a game that helped bring the Detriot Lions come back on track. It wasn't the prettiest of games for both teams, but it was Lions who came up with the stunner against the Vikings as the take that game 20-10. It wasn't a huge game for both quarterbacks despite netting one touchdown at least. But David Perrigin was a huge factor for the Lions, getting two touchdowns on the day for the Detroit Lions. But it doesn't mean there isn't much for the Vikings to be content with. They did have a good defense, headlined by Ryan Hicks with 10 tackles. If it were for the Vikings defense this would've gone much more out of hand for the team. Still, not much to write home about for the NFC North rivalry game this week.

It turned out much worse for the Cheeseheads this time around. Not only did they lose against the Commanders, but they lost in extremely huge fashion. The score turned out to be 37-10 in favor of Washington. Joseph Garibay struggled, only managing the lone touchdown in company with 3 interceptions. Even worse, the defense wasn't in sync giving up points in just about every quarter. Even Carl Frost was not up to his true potential that game. The game was expected, as it was against the Commanders. However, this possibly shows how week the Packers seem to play each week this season -- only seeming to nab wins against much lesser competition and having nothing to show for it otherwise.

There will be no NFC North games on the docket next week. The Lions will head over to Tampa Bay to hopefully gain a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Meanwhile, the Packers are on for another tough battle as they face of against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Finally, the Vikings look to get their first win against the lowly Indianapolis Colts. Surely, this is the week to watch for those in the NFC North.

The Bears find themselves back home for Week 5 against the reigning Super Bowl Champions

Next Game:

As for the Bears, they will be heading back home to Chicago as they look at facing off against the defending Super Bowl champion Washington Commanders. Despite the Bears seeing themselves in the midst of excellent football to start the season, this feels more of a challenge to the Bears. The Commanders, as expected, are undefeated heading into the week. Not to mention that Washington has scored double-digit points coming in. This is a game that the Bears might need a prayer to get the victory at this point. And with Lewis out, it's going to be a tough battle for Chicago.
