Bears defenders chase down Titans running back John Knighten in a close loss by a score of 31-34

If the momentum from the win last week was seen at the game on Sunday, all of that momentum has dissipated slowly. Fortunately, it seemed as if the Bears still kept all of that until the very end, but it was not a game that Chicago can hang their head in shame. Unfortunately, a loss is still a loss, but credit is due to the Bears, who played well even when facing defeat. The Bears gave the Titans hell all throughout the game, despite the Titans having all of the advantages. In a way, it seemed that it made sense that game went into an overtime period. It was a nail-biter, but all of the nails from the Bears fans have all run out, it seems.

The Bears started off the gates on the wrong foot, as a Gerald Lewis interception led to Tennessee taking the first touchdown on the board. However, it was a-ok for the Bears as the Bears managed to catch up to speed thanks to veteran QB Gerald Lewis and a tough-as-nails Bears defense that invested anything to make sure that Titans quarterback Wayne Reimer had a rough game and a rough game he did. This managed to keep the Bears in the game -- to a 14-14 tie in the half. The Bears got the lead at the half, and managed to gain a 3-point lead in the third quarter, However, the Titans did manage to tie it up and had all of the momentum into the overtime period. They maintained that energy and ended the game on Terry Sokoli  -- who struggled during the game in regulation. It was a touch loss, but nothing to panic over as coach nemolee.exe tells us:

"Sure, we lost, but we lost in a close game. So there is nothing to worry about on our side. And if I am correct, this is the best team in the league. So I am not crying over this loss. The better team won today. All we have to do is get back up and keep on moving."

POTG: WR Richard Maguire - 6 catches on 11 attempts, 114 yards, 19 YPC, 1 touchdown
Player of the Game

It was easy to choose the player of the game for primetime, and that player was easily Richard Maguire. Even nemolee.exe was unsure if Frietas would overtake Maguire for the WR1 spot, and this is the exact reason. He did have only 6 catches between 11 attempts, but he had 114 yards and led all Bears receivers that game. He also had 19 yards per catch, alongside 1 touchdown to ornament this impressive stat sheet. It was clear that the strength of the game is the receiving core on offense, and Maguire looks like the captain we all deserve for the Bears.

The same can't be said for the defense. Not that much activity going on other than multiple tackles. However,  Jehu Ginn seemed to impress out of everyone here. He claims 8 total tackles with 1 assist. But the thing to look at is the 2.5 tackles for loss that he acquired. He was a bully to the Titans' defense, and the Bears needed him any way they could. Jawun Hilton also had a forced fumble this game and he might've been the player on defense had he not gone down with an ankle sprain.

Detriot Lions running back David Perrigin avoids Packers defenders as he takes it for a 20-yard touchdown as the Lions win over the Packers 13-3

Rival Check

It seems to be another rough week for the NFC North, and it seems as if the division is getting competitive for all the wrong reasons.

The Lions and Packers did face off against each other this week, and it didn't seem like a competitive game. It was a low-scoring affair, the score was only 13-3 in favor of the Detroit Lions. It was a freebee for the Lions' defense, getting Joseph Garibay for two interceptions and keeping the Packers out of the end zone. Randall Hansen might not have fared any better, playing slightly worse than Garibay despite the touchdown. Nevertheless, it seems like a turn in the right direction for the Lions as they hopefully claw their way toward a second straight NFC North title victory -- and this helps the Lions' favor.

Then there were the Vikings, who did not look any better from their game last week against the Bears. With momentum at a low, the Vikings struggled against the Seahawks under the Thursday Night Lights. It was only a 7-10 loss, which is embarrassing for the NFC North. Christian Sinnock had a worse game and a game to forget, throwing a total of 3 interceptions and grabbing the worst QBR out of all other QBs in the division. The defense held up, but it wasn't enough, as the Vikings grabbed a lone touchdown and nothing else. Perhaps we can expect a change of QB for the Vikings?

Next week, it will be the Lions coming back home to face off against the Giants before the Bears try their luck with New York. Meanwhile, the Packers look to turn it around as they travel to Levi's Stadium to face off against the San Fransisco 49ers. Finally, the Vikings will try to avenge the Bears' close loss as they change guard and face the Titans in Nashville.

The Bears will face off against the Colts in Week 3, as they play at Soldier Field for the first time this season

Next Game:

Next week, the Bears will be playing in Chicago for the first time this season. It will be set for an interesting and exhilarating home opener for Bears fans, as they face off against the Indianapolis Colts. It should be an easy test, as the Colts start 0-2 for the season. It is a rough start for the Colts. Not only did they lose to the Titans to start off their season, but they also lost in a close 14-17 fashion against Baltimore. It might be an easy fight for the Bears. But Chicago has to watch out, as it is a game that can make or break their season.
