NFL Combine Winners

Theo Scribner

Will Scribner's performance be enough to push him to the first overall pick? The reigning Heisman Trophy winner put together a dazzling show at the combine, showing pristine accuracy to go with a cannon arm. Scribner oozed confidence, stating "I'm the best player in this building," during his press interview. Scribner's remarkable performances all season were easily memorable, even connecting with star receiver Durham Simmons at the combine in a beautiful deep post during routes on air.

Rubby Stewart

The big Kentucky tackle locked down why he's the best offensive lineman in this class at the combine. A monstrous 41 bench reps to go with great times in the 20 yard shuttle and 3 cone, Stewart wowed scouts all day long. The 6'-6", 308 pounder had a jaw dropping 10-4 broad jump, and in the offensive line drills continually dominated defensive linemen. Stewart can still improve his pass sets, but right now he's an instant impact player at right tackle for every team in the country.

Andrew Jones

What a player. The speedster from UCLA torched the 40 with a 4.32, and proceeded to post a great session in wide receiver catching and route running drills. A solid 6'-0", 189 lbs measurement, Jones exploded with a 39.5" vertical and showed blistering change of pace with a 3.92 shuttle and a 6.73 3 cone. Is this enough to be a top 10 pick? GMs were certainly impressed with this performance.

Austin Bledsoe

The presumptive top defensive back in the class, Bledsoe showed elite speed and an incredible 3.84 20 yard shuttle to lead off the DB's opening act. A zone coverage specialist, Bledsoe was one of the most entertaining interviews and surprised many GMS with his eloquence and knowledge of the game. "Cornerback is 10% physical, 90% mental. My goal is to have all the preparation so well done that the receivers in front of me think I can read their mind as they run their routes."

Don Scott

Talk about an athletic freak. The Temple tight end stood at 6'-6", 238 lbs, then ran a 4.44 40, had 39 bench press reps, a 41" vertical, and finished off with an 11'-2" broad jump. Holy smokes. "I'm every teams dream. I put all the work in every single day and I'll lead the charge in the weight room, film room, and on the field. Any team that needs a dedicated blocker or a big target down field, I'm your guy."

NFL Combine Losers

Preston Miller

A brutal outing for the Pitt defensive tackle. Miller put up a paltry 35 reps for a 306 pound defensive lineman, and was consistently ran over by offensive linemen during the drills session. Looking out-of-shape at the world's biggest job interview, Miller clearly hurt his draft stock and looks to be heading for the late first, early second. "I have a great passion for the game, I'm hungry, and I'm going to bring it everydown," Miller plead to the GMs and scouts listening. Lots to be still seen from the Panther product.

Carlos Lackey

The big Maryland center also struggled at Indy. Though he aced the wonderlic with a stunning 46, Lackey was not convincing when running the events nor did he impress in blocking drills. Consistently slow on the first step and lacking a solid first punch, Lackey was shredded by a rotating cast of elite defensive tackles. He may have the brains to do it, but his body was clearly not keeping up with him.

Nate Semien

A speedy corner from Colorado State, Semien performed well enough in the various combine events, but that's when things took a downhill spiral for the Ram alumni, Multiple teams came off the weekend stating that he was not a strong interview, and Semien was completely shredded through the defensive back drills. Slow on his front foot, he just lacked the fluidity people expect from an top NFL defensive back. Time will tell, but even in a weaker position, Semien definitely cost himself a few million dollars.

Great write-up! Andrew Jones's time is still mindblowing. I think any team that selects him is going to be pretty pumped about having him on their roster. This WR class honestly seems loaded. I'd be shocked if Miller fell out the second.
