2023 SEC QBs Ranked

Hello hello, time for a quick 10 minute power walk article. Let's rank how good the (presumed) SEC starting quarterbacks will likely be this season. There is lots of bias here don't worry.

  1. Brandon Savage - Tennessee. Duh, did anybody click on this and expect anything else? He threw for 4000 yards as a true freshman and led the team to the playoff semifinals. Cornerbacks are quaking in their boots already
  2. Andrew Moncrief - Auburn. On paper Moncrief might be a top-10 QB in the country. A throw power, A+ throw accuracy, B+ IQ, he can do it all and is going to post some serious numbers this year
  3. Will Outman - Georgia. Outman turned the corner in the last half of the season beginning with the breakout performance against Tennessee. A throw power, A- throw accuracy, and B IQ, he also has great mobility in the pocket with A- agility and can navigate the pocket very well
  4. Michael Oliveros - Kentucky. So many A's on his player card, but he underperformed last year and it's not clear that he's ready to put it all together quite yet. As a 5-star caliber player though, if he does then he could shoot up this list
  5. Aaron Toomer - LSU. A bit of a noodle arm, but field generals are underrated and he does have A+ IQ. Look for him to dink and dunk his way to 8+ wins this season
  6. Whoever Bama starts. - Last year they benched their starter after a disaster of a first game, and the backup led them to a national championship. I'm not going to put too much stock into who the early frontrunner is. Plus with all the talent around him, all this QB has to do is be passable to put up huge numbers and wins
  7. Tyler Pivetta - SCAR. B+ TP, A- TA, he looks talented, and last year SCAR trotted out.. Kemeko allard? Who turned out to be good (and very underrated), so Pivetta learned a lot
  8. Mike Hu - Mississippi State. Mike is above average all the way around, but hasn't quite shown any elite attributes so far
  9. Adam Ricahrds - Texas A&M. Adam is.. pretty good at running? Aggressively average at throwing the ball though
  10. Klay Castillo - Ole Miss. The kid can huck it, but is not the smartest tool in the shed. Could move up this list a bit though over the course of the season
  11. Arkansas - They have several options and we don't know who will win the job, but I just don't see them having enough to justify a higher ranking
  12. Chris Golden - Missouri. Aaron Leamon was VERY good for Missouri last year. I don't think their fans are mentally prepared for this kind of a step back at the most important position. Chris is not great
  13. Shareece kelly - Florida. He is a very good athlete that's for sure, but I would not rely on his arm to win any games. This program is going to suffer at QB for another year or two.
  14. VanVleet - Vanderbilt. lol. At least he has a fun alliterative name
