Recommended Posts

Several AFC teams made waves this weekend by announcing big contract extensions for their star players, keeping them around for 2023 and beyond.

Tennessee Titans

The Titans are paying RB John Knighten $15 million to stick around for another 2 years. The NFL's leader in both rushing yards and total yards from scrimmage, Knighten has shown no sign of slowing down even in his 10th year. They've also come to terms with OG Joseph Kolodny, who signed an $18 million extension that will keep him on the team through 2026.

Denver Broncos

The Broncos love their young tackle tandem of Derek Dixon and Craig Parrish, and intend to keep them wearing orange and navy for a long time. Both have been signed to 5-year deals worth in excess of $31 million, including a cool $25 million guaranteed. They went even bigger for edge rusher DE Chad Bruce: $35.5 million over the next 5 years, with $32.5 million guaranteed. Bruce is second on the team this year with 6 sacks since being acquired from Carolina.

Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders offered extensions to a number of young role players, keeping them around for 2 more years to see how they develop. But they also made two big moves: the first was to extend OLB Steven McIntosh with a 4-year, $24.75 million contract that includes $15 million of guaranteed money. CB Samuel Frazier also got a big pay day, $21.5 million over 5 years.
