One of the top edge defender prospects in the Class of 2024 is DE John Duncan of Biloxi High School in Biloxi, Mississippi. Standing at 6'-5" and weighing in the 230s, Duncan possesses the rare athletic traits that have him on the watch list of football programs around the country. After making his name in this previous summer's football camp circuit, Duncan racked up 7.5 sacks and 24 tackles for loss this fall for the Biloxi Indians, along with 17 receptions and 3 TDs while playing tight end on offense.

Duncan shined the brightest in Biloxi's 24-14 victory against the Northeast Trojans (Meridian MS). The Trojans trotted out arguably the top offensive line in all of Mississippi, anchored by UNC commit 4 star Henry Zhang at left tackle and Philip Simons at right tackle. Neither senior edge had all the answers against Duncan, who won a fair share of reps on his way to a 1.5 sack night to go along with 3 TFLs. Duncan showed a high motor a very strong rip move that he has made his bread and butter.

"I've had a really good season," said Duncan. "Looking forward to finishing strong and getting some rest and relaxation for a few weeks this winter, let some stuff heal up. Going to hit the weight room this spring, trying to see if I can get some PRs and really show out next year when I'm the big dog in this state. Dad and I this past summer we went around to a ton of schools... Tennessee, Tulane, Florida, North Carolina, LSU, of course Ole Miss and State too. I'm talking to a bunch of people everyday, but last summer was more for testing and camps. This upcoming summer I'm going to be visiting for programs, campus life, that stuff matters. Gotta be in a good mindset to play good."

"I got a lot of time left but starting to narrow some stuff down. Course guys are always talking to me, coaches always talking to me. May have beaten Henry earlier this year, but he's my dawg and we always talk about how sweet it'd be go to up to UNC together. I'm also really close with (4* and Michigan Commit) Phillip Garris, he's always on me to make the trip up north but I don't like it cold frankly. With what I got to do last summer, I'm honestly pretty close to committing. I plan on going early next fall and helping build the class around me."
