Army Football Roster Offensive Breakdown

With the dawn of a new era at West Point, let's take a look a the Army roster and some projections for next years personnel.

Quarterbacks :

 

 

With Jose Dedmon graduating this year, the quarterbacks look to be especially weak for next season. As of now only one quarterback matches the run heavy scheme that Army currently runs. This team better hope that they can snag a scrambling QB in CPU recruiting because the future is too bright with this group.

 

Grade : D

 

 

Running Backs:

 

 

One of the few bright spots on this team, the depth at running back is very good. While Codey Vincej will graduate, Jonathon Perez is a very talented back who should be around for another two years. Rob Wells is also another solid back who should add some versatility to the gameplan with his pass catching ability. Since the Wishbone will be the gameplan next year, the success of the offense will rely heavily on this group.

 

Grade : B-

 

 

Fullbacks :

 

 

There might not be a true fullback on this roster by next year. While this position doesn't greatly influence the game, this will definitely need to be addressed in the offseason. As of now though, Jason Tocho is the projected starter as the converted Tight End has played the position all year.

 

Grade : F

 

 

Wide Receivers :

 

Well despite a heavy run based offense, this receiving core seems to be well coached and talented. Will some talent will be graduating, this team will definitely be able to pass the ball if they need to. That being said it all depends if the Quarterbacks can throw the ball. Overall this is a really solid group of players, who can really positively impact this team.

 

Grade : C+

 

Offensive Line :

 

 

Arguably the most important position on the field, but the most deficient position group on this roster. Almost the entire Oline is graduating leaving a few juniors to fend for themselves. Hopefully this issue can be addressed during CPU recruiting, but for right now this looks horrible for the Black Knights.

Overall Grade : D-

 

This team is well below average and needs some serious recruiting and guidance from a Head Coach if it truly wants to be a contender.
