Week 7 Review

Week 7 Score: Oregon 12 - Washington 24

POTG: RB Jerry Lawson - 22 carries for 186 yards and 1 TD

What happened: The roller coaster ride that is Nathan Frazier Jr. continued. After a 4 TD masterpiece a week ago fans were anxious to see how he would build on that performance. Spoiler alert, he didn’t. Frazier completed only 47.5% of his passes and threw an interception. In each of the last 5 games, Frazier has alternated between completing under 50% of his passes and over 62% of his passes. So the good news for Duck fans is that he should be due a good game this week.

Week 8 Preview

Match-up: Oregon (2-4) vs Arizona (3-3)

What to watch for (Oregon): How will the Oregon defense matchup against the Arizona Air Raid attack? The Oregon secondary appears to have an advantage but they can’t afford to make mistakes while living on the razor-thin margin that is the ineptitude of the Oregon defense.

What to watch for (Arizona): Arizona enters the contest on a 2 game-losing streak. QB Mike Jones has been harassed unceasingly by opposing pass rushes, taking 4 sacks in each of those losses. The Wildcats will have to hold the Ducks pass rush led by Omar Leroux and Pedro Cothren to try and give Jones a chance to push the ball downfield and test the Oregon secondary.

Recruiting Roundup

OT Blake Fitkin has announced his commitment to the University of Oregon. Fitkin is a 4* pass blocking tackle from Massapequa, New York. He has a B overall rating and A potential and projects to be an immediate starter next season with the graduation of Luis Hernandez and Logan Jones. Fitkin was the #1 priority recruit for the Ducks in the recruiting cycle and the first recruit to announce his commitment.
