Tulane gets an impressive 30-17 win in Oklahoma against Tulsa to keep their strong season going improving to 5-1 and 3-0 in conference play. Bronson Morel lead the team with a dominant passing attack putting up 512 yards and 3 touchdowns on 27 completions. Other notable performances were Fernando Thomas going 19 for 13 with 251 yards and 2 touchdowns, Treveon Love going 14 for 8 with 153 yards and a touchdown and OLB Jason Beasley with 5 solo tackles 3 TFLs and 3 sacks. Also before we begin special shout out to DT Tyler Reiter whos performance while not the most impressive with 2 solo tackles 0.5 TFLs and 0.5 sacks secured his first career interception. We love to see our big boys producing here at Tulane and the team really celebrated this by having the whole team rush the field to carry the 6'3" 295 pound senior off the field. In completely unrelated news multiple Tulane players have suffered back, neck, and should injuries during the game so we wish them the best of luck in recovery.

Now jumping into the game OLB Jason Beasley kept Tulsa off the board early with a 14 yard sack on 3rd and 4 from the Tulane 23 yard line that took Tulsa out of field goal range. Tulane then got the ball and after a 2 yard run an a throw away Bronson Morel completed a 21 yard pass to Fernando Thomas followed by a 46 yard pass to Thomas and then another 7 yard pass to Thomas. The drive was capped off by a 4 yard touchdown to Treveon Love putting them up 7-0. Tulsa gets the ball and on their second play Maurquice Ekuale is intercepted by Round Reiter on a pass intended for RB Romulo Nene. After a quick 3 and out when the 2nd quarter start Tulane kicker Adam Edwards misses a 31 yard field goal. On the next play with Tulsa starting on their own 13 OLB Jason Beasley gets his second big sack of the game with a 13 yard sack resulting in a safety which put Tulane up 9-0. On the next possession after Tulane's offense is stopped kicker Adam Edwards misses a 45 yard field goal. Jumping ahead a little bit Tulane punts from the 15 yard line setting Tulsa up with great field position starting from their own 40 and after a big 35 yard pass to RB Brandon Pipkins they give it right back to him as he punches in the 8 yard run for the touchdown Tulane leads 9-7. At the end of the second Tulsa putting together a good drive and converting on 4th and 4 from Tulane's 26 yard line with a 9 yard carry by Brandon Pipkins time expires on the half and Tulsa leaves 3-7 points off the board. Tulsa comes out of the first half determined to win and after each team goes 3 and out and an incomplete pass Maurquice Ekuale fires a 51 yard pass to WR Tony Sherman and then on the next play makes the same connection for a 24 yard touchdown which puts Tulsa up 14-9 after an impressive 3 play 75 yard drive. On the next drive Bronson Morel not to be outdone by Maurquice Ekuale fires a 51 yard pass to Treveon Love and after 2 carries for 10 yards by Hector Lee backup QB turned RB Haloti Thomas punches it in from 7 yards out for a touchdown giving Tulane the lead back and a 16-14 score. After each team has a drive Tulane kicker Adam Edwards misses his 3rd field goal this one from 44 yards out. After a 13 play drive by Tulsa including a 22 yard pass to RB Romulo Nene Tulsa's kicker Evan Coleman makes a 30 yard field goal to put Tulsa back up 17-16. On the next drive Tulane drives down the field and to eliminate all doubts about him Tulane kicker Adam Edwards misses a 32 yard field goal on his quest to be named the worst kicker in the league. Going into the 4th quarter Tulane gets the ball back and after a 40 yard pass to WR DeVante Pina Fernando Thomas makes the 1 yard touchdown grab to put Tulane back up 23-17. Jumping forward after a Tulane drive stalls out at the 18 yard line Adam Edwards puts the cherry on top by missing his 5th field goal this one from 36 yards out. With 4 minutes left in the game Tulane gets the ball back and after a 46 yard pass to Fernando Thomas a 28 yard pass back to Thomas results in the nail in the coffin putting Tulane up 30-17.

After looking through the play by play you see the box score does not tell the full story as it was a very close game up until the 4th quarter where Tulane was able to pull away for the win. That is the end of our article as Tulane coach Kgreene829 refused to let players out for conferences when asked why he said that they were not done with the much needed media training and he is not taking any more risk. It seems like all the media excitement out of Tulane has really gotten to coach Kgreene829.
