Locked on Tulane week 6

Recommended Posts

Tulane is back in the win column after a great game against Navy with a nice 23-3 win Bronson Morel and Treveon Love are still working to get back to top form but Fernando Thomas has a huge bounce back game and is our player of the week. Fernando Thomas was targeted 15 times making 13 catches for 286 yards and a touchdown.

We will not have player interviews today because coach kgreene829 has called a team meeting to go over the season so far and wants to give the team a break from the media since they feel they have had a bit too much problems with the media between problems in press conferences to things said on the players own time.

So lets go over the game this week we saw the running game have some tweaks once again as backup QB Haloti Thomas was inserted as RB 2 and had the best rushing performance on the team. This was experimental but gaining 1 more yard than starter Alexi Patterson on half the touches we will see how things develop but Haloti Thomas may end up being the teams best option on the ground.

Moving on Treveon Love had another disappointing game with 14 targets only making 7 catches for 20 yards and Bronson Morel showed promise to bouncing back with 1 TD and 360 passing yards he went 29 for 56 and had 2 interceptions so Morel still has some work to do. Coach kgreene829 did say that he is not looking for a perfect game for Morel just a good enough game since the Navy secondary is good and CB Fred Barrett showed that by getting 10 tackles and 2 interceptions. With that being said Tulane will look to fix those as they look forward to a game against Tulsa.

Last thing we will discuss is Tulane having some huge success on the defensive side of the ball SS Marvin Norris with 4 tackles and a 14 yard pick six, FS Kyle Are with 3 tackles and 2 forced fumbles recovered by CB Daniel Ka'aihue who had 2 tackles and DT Tyler Reiter who had 3 tackles 2 TFLs and 2 sacks. Also ILB Khalid Bolt had an impressive game with 8 tackles 2 assisted tackles 2 TFL's and 1 sack. The defense was firing on all cylinders and showed some great stuff and will be looking forward to improving on this impressive performance.

Sorry for the shorter piece but thats all I have for you this week.
