Recommended Posts

After the fourth week of the season the first recruits are finally starting to pick their schools and Tulane was able to pick a commitment from their top target.

Hernandez will join 5 star ILB redshirt freshman Kevin Robles as the only 5 star players in Tulane history. Coach kgreene829 has turned the culture and may be building LBU down here in NOLA after back to back huge recruiting wins.

Coach kgreene829 had high praise for Hernandez saying "We knew Jose was a great talent and with two of our OLBs leaving he filled a hole. We also loved how our LBs are shaping up as Jose will join 5 star ILB redshirt freshman Kevin Robles and Montrezl Holcomb who is a current redshirt sophomore. These three are great young players who will make an impact for us immediately and might even make up the most talented LB core in the league. What we are most excited for is the leadership he will get at Tulane with senior OLB's Aaron White and Jason Beasley and senior ILB Khalid Bolt who combine for 13 years of experience with the team they have been passing that knowledge down and I feel like OLB DeAndre Wisdom going into his senior season will be that veteran presence and I expect the other 3 starters to benefit from it. One thing that we sold Jose on was the previously mentioned ILB group we told him that he will have the chance to develop with similar top tier talent at the position. Here at Tulane we do more than play football though and I feel like playing alongside Robles and Holcomb will be a great experience for all 3 and the friendship and connection they develop will help them on their path to the NFL as they will have someone in the exact situation they are in lining up right next to them."

Now lets take a look our first look at Jose Hernandez standing at 6'4" and 248 pounds Hernandez can already pass for an NFL player as he is 1 inch taller than and just 2 pounds shy of NFL LB Kahlil Mack. So Hernandez looks the part but what gets you more excited is looking at his high school stats in his 4 years he made 255 solo tackles, 402 total tackles which comes out to 7.6 tackles per game. Hernandez also had 34 sacks, 3 interceptions and 8 forced fumbles. Taking a look at his numbers from his senior season he had 59 solo tackles, 93 total tackles which is 6.6 tackles per game 10 sacks, 1 interception, and 1 fumble recovery. We don't have any announcement on what number he will wear because coach Kgreene829 is reportedly going to give priority for numbers based on fall camp performances.

While Tulane is excited about landing Jose Hernandez they continue to look forward. Tulane is keeping quite but reports show that they plan to jump into a battle for another 5 star we don't have news about that since they are trying to quietly steal them away watch out @Vivid. We were able to get information on the next public target for Tulane and its a fun one. After securing Jose Hernandez they are now looking to get a commitment from 4 star WR Manuel Hernandez who is the brother of Jose Hernandez. After the twins were born their parents had a fight that led to them separating each taking one. Jose was taken to Texas by his father while Manuel was taken to Pennsylvania with his mom. Both brothers are reportedly excited for a reunion but they both understand that Manuel needs to do what's best for him. Since the brothers have not seen each other since the divorce when they were only 3 Manuel has plans to fly down to Tulane this week which lines up with Jose's first visit on campus as a Tulane commit. We will have an article out recapping the visit after it happens. We reached out to coach Kgreene829 for comment

"Well they are both great players and its a great story, we are so happy to be able to bring these brothers back together. We do want to make very clear that this is not an official visit by Manuel and we will be making no effort to recruit him. Manuel Hernandez is a great player who we would love to have but he is coming down to reunite with his brother and we don't want to ruin the time they spend together. We also don't want any media harassing them during the visit if Jose wants to talk about it after the fact then he will but again we don't want to spoil the moment please respect their privacy. We will have plenty of time to recruit Manuel later but this week is for something much bigger than football."

Coach Kgreene829 with a very classy move and on that note we will wrap up this article
