Ole Miss Down but Not Out

Recommended Posts

So far Ole Miss has had a tragic season on the road. Having lost every OOC game, and their conference opener, many have written this team off entirely. In their recent game against LSU, there was a glimmer of hope in the 4th quarter, as the Rebels had a chance to win by 1 after a missed extra point from the LSU quarterback, only to be stumped by the Tiger's defense within 40 yards of the endzone. The Rebels defense did what they could to keep the Tigers at bay, but it ultimately came down to the Ole Miss offense and when push came to shove, they just couldn't put the game away. That seems to be the story of the season for the Rebs, who's hurry up style and short pass game seems unable to find yards against their opponents.

When asked about his team's performance, Coach SlapYourBasil had this to say:

"It's early days yet. This team's got a lot of talent, and I think you'll see that for yourself in the games to come. We're gonna put these behind us, learn from them, and go into this bye week with a chip on our shoulder. We're gonna train hard and practice harder. Vandy should watch out, we're coming to Nashville hungry."

Strong words from the rookie coach.

The Rebels, now 0-4 on the season will have to find their stride during this bye week if they hope to have a chance on the road again against Vanderbilt, and the rest of the Southeastern Conference.
