Los Angeles, CA

Welcome to the Elite 11, ran by QB Coach Jim Jebow. In this series, Jim and his staff will host 5 regional competitions around the country, testing over 1000 quarterbacks before selecting the 20 best players to go to Nashville, TN for the Elite 11 finals. There, the final 11 will rise to the top, and an Elite 11 MVP will be awarded. In each of the regionals, the top 2 players of each region will automatically earn a bid to the finals. With that, our team started in Los Angeles for the Pacific Regional.

The California QBs were extremely competitive and impressive, but the King of the North reigned supreme. Dick Richards of Johnson High School, Anchorage, Alaska dominated the competition, showing poise, accuracy, and leadership throughout the day. “Small kid,” said Jebow, “But good things often come in small packages. Man what a monster. Hyper intelligent, great arm, just crushed it out here. Alpha dog kinda guy.”

“I’ve never been to LA before actually. Had a great time coming down here, man feel like kids are bigger down here than up north,” said Richards. “Happy to win this regional and looking forward to seeing all the players in the finals! In the meanwhile, just gonna keep my nose on the grindstone.”

Max Benson is an absolute world-beater,” Jebow said about the player from Simi Valley. “Hyper athletic freak with a great arm, just a one-of-a-kind talent. So fast, so shifty, and when he uncorks the ball just watch out. Just a rocket launcher of an arm.”

“Couldn’t beat out ol Dickey but I’m happy with the finals invite,” said Benson. “Coach Jebow helped me out a lot, I know I have the tools and the arm strength, but the little bits he told me on footwork and I could see my accuracy and consistency getting better. Just appreciative to the coaching staff. I know I’m a beast, and I’m gonna show it in Nashville.”

“We just couldn’t stop watching this kid throw,” said Jebow. “David Ferguson of Colfax up in the Sierra Nevadas, I mean, this is a guy from the middle of nowhere. And he just lit it up, amazing talent. Dick is an elite thrower, Max is an elite athlete, but David is somewhere in between, and earned his way as the coaches pick to move on to the finals.”

“Hey guys, David Ferguson here. Hi Mom and Dad”, Ferguson said cheerfully to the delight of us at Elite 11 media. “Had a pretty good day today, thought I was sharp, but man level of competition is crazy here in SoCal. Yeah rest of the summer, I’m going back north, training with my team, and putting my money away to show what I got in Nashville.”

Finals Invitees:

#2606 (5*) Dick Richards - Pacific MVP

#27 (4*) Max Benson - Pacific Qualifier

#152 (4*) David Ferguson - Pacific Coach's Pick

Tune in next time as the team heads to Dallas for the Southwest Regional!
