Scoop from the Siege Week 2, 2022: Bye Week Binge

Fresh off their Week 1 victory over the Green Bay Packers, the Minnesota Vikings faced perhaps their toughest matchup yet... an early bye week. With the beauty of autumn and abundant leaf color change along the Mississippi River, many Vikings toured down from the Cities to the rivertowns on the state's east side. For linebacker Kevin Vangirinsven, it became more of a drunken political campaign than anything.

With the rumor of a new front office in Green Bay looming, Vangrinsven said he wanted to throw himself into the ring as the People's Choice. With important stops in key border cities like Wabasha and Winona, Vangrinsven made sure to sign plenty of autographs and started handing out yard signs and bumper stickers mocking the rival team. He took it one step further, crossing the river into enemy territory, traveling to Myrick Park in La Crosse and along the marsh, making a speech to great fanfare that could strengthen Vikings territory into at least the western reaches of the Dairy State. Slurring his words, likely related to the bottle of Grainbelt Nordeast that he hoisted into the air, he said that he refused to acknowledge the naming of @Suffocation as Packers president; "I will not be purchasing a share of the Green Bay Packers, I don't need to, I'm already their owner on the field!" While it's unclear how the Wisconsin side of the river truly took the chaos, it is of note that the La Crosse Dick's Sporting Goods did start offering a hefty inventory of Vangrinsven jerseys.

Rookie Report

While no rookies were able to record any stats of note this week due to the bye, Vikings rookie 1st round selection Alex Williams III returned to the UW-Madison campus with former Badger and current Viking teammates Le'veon Caminero and Austin Bishop. The Badgers held an open date of their own, but the Vikings rookie trio were at Camp Randall to promote the Camp Randall Classic, a sort of Badgers season hype kickoff followed by a game between WIAA Division 2 teams Brookfield Central and Racine Horlick. Brookfield Central is led by 2-star QB Thomas Bartlett, while Horlick featured 1-star QB James Murphy and top Wisconsin recruit, 4-star P Craig Lonergan. He's no David Ross, but he's certainly the pride of Milwaukee-area football right now.

the only one upset will be Kevin Vangrinsven when he finds out someone can not play for a different team than they own ?
