2022 Practice Squad Rules

Hello Coaches,

 

Here are the rules for the 2022 Practice Squads:

• 16 slots
  
• Players must be in their first (rookie), second, or third year in the league (this corresponds to their 'year' number)
  
• Players on practice squads may NOT be place on depth charts.
  
• Players on practice Squads can be "poached" by other teams. This means they offer to sign them to their active roster.
  
  • Contract offers to poach must at least equal their current contract.
    
  • The team having the player poached from them has the right to match the contract offered, but then also must promote that player to the active roster. Players will always choose their current team if the contracts are the same.
    
  • Any team offering a practice squad player (poacher or poachee) *MUST* have at least enough space on their active rosters for all offers they make at the time they make them. In other words, you cannot offer to poach a player and *then* cut someone when they accept.
    
  • If the playing being poached has that offer matched by their current team, the current team keeps them. There is no bidding.
    

  [*]Players can be placed on the practice squad from the active roster directly. Simply use the cuts thread as usual, but make sure to tag the players destined for the Practice squad as such: "[PRACTICE SQUAD]". It is the user's responsibility to make it clear for the admins.   [*]Practice squad players will be given a slight boost to progression over players that played no snaps.

How do we put players from the Waiver Wires / Free Agency onto our Practice Squad directly?

Use the same free agency thread as normal, just designate that they are a practice squad signing.

Can we add to bullet #4 that you must tag the owner(s) of the teams you are trying to sign from? Would be less work for admins. Also, what is the time limit for the owner to match?
