More likely though....they decline the penalty since the game was in-hand and they just mercifully end the game, not risk injury/turnover by running another play.  But yes, you may very well be right that this same thing may happen with a different game scenario, like the offense being down 1 score or less and not getting a chance to have another play.

wouldn't give the game engine that much credit for doing that considering what we see every game each week

Baylor Cincinatti game today. A DE was returning punts and my FB was playing defense and got a sack… both are not in positions to do those things.

Week 3, Indiana-Tulane (Sat night). Tulane throws an interception but there is a defensive penalty. Instead of cancelling the turnover, Indiana gets a 1st and 10.

Don't think there's much to say that hasn't been already said but to re-iterate:

4th Down Logic is quite simply broken. And with it so is Kicking/Punting. No NFL team is punting the ball from within 40 yards unless their kicker is injured, and even then their punter would have a go. The Kicking engine also seems to make kicks far more inaccurate than it needs to.

The College level kickers should be attempting 40 yarders too instead of punting Touchbacks.

Unsure why this happened, but Georgia Tech played an OL that didn't account for the best players at their position.  As we move forward, I think it helps all of us to have AI teams play their best players.  In this case, I worry about O'Koyea Landrum and his potential draft stock as an A overall (JR) who might declare.  It only hurts us all if we don't get to see players in the best environment.  Nothing we can do if guys don't have a lot of talent surrounding them, but the AI should be playing it's best players.

Tech has the roster to play a max OL of this: B+, B, B+, B-, B+

Instead they played this: C, C, C, B, B+

I have an algorithm that is used to assign the best possible players by depth chart position, based on the scheme selected and the players available. I'll take a look on why this line was used over others

I took a second look at the depth chart algorithm and also looked at Georgia Tech's current OLine to see if there are any inconsistencies. Georgia Tech's current scheme is Air Raid, which means they're going to set their depth chart with linemen with the best pass blocking ability.

With that said... they do not have the best pass blocking linemen. There are some things I'm going to adjust with the current algorithm to make more consistent across how linemen are placed on the DC, especially when out-of-position, but I have a feeling this will only have a small impact for the yellow jackets. The rest of their OLine is very young.

I know 4th down changes are coming. Also had an incident for the Utah - California game week 4 night. 4th quarter and 1:58 remaining, Utah scores a touchdown for the score to be 15-17. Instead of going for a 2 pt conversion to tie, we kick a xp for 16-17 loss

Two point conversions are not currently a feature.

Week 4 Ole Miss vs LSU.

0 2 4:40 Ole Miss 1 -5 -5 LSU Pass QB Klay Castillo complete to RB Nick Hancock for -5 yards. TOUCHDOWN

Previous play was a defensive penalty, looks like LOS was set in the endzone so the RB ran backwards to cross the endzone and score?

Lessen the scheme change penalty when a team goes back to a previously used penalty by adding an increasing penalty as a team "forgets" the previously used scheme. For example:

Week 1 - Pro - 0% penalty

Week 2 - Pro - 0% penalty

Week 3 - Double Wing - 25% penalty

Week 4 - Pro - 5% penalty

Week 5 - Pro - 0% penalty

Week 6 - Double Wing - 25% penalty

Week 7 - Double Wing - 10% penalty

Week 8 - Pro - 10% penalty

Week 9 - Pro - 5% penalty

Week 10 - Pro - 0% penalty

--------------

So basically the penalty is applied in both directions. Every week a team plays in a different scheme than the one they were 100% familiar with, they move one level away in the other direction.

I see where you are coming from, but I would argue scheme changes in the middle of the season should be exceedingly rare. Having a harsh penalty each time it happens discourages this behavior. Also, the IRL work a team needs to do to implement a new scheme is quite a bit, and there absolutely is a "forgot the old way" factor that comes into play. I think between those two reasons, the scheme change penalties should remain the same.

Wondering if for next year we could get a “minimum FG range” slider and some sort of field position slider for punters. Might help determine the “go for it” logic, for example you don’t want your kicker to be attempting 23 yard FGs and would rather have your dynamic offense attempt a TD, yould set your slider to like 30 and then wouldn’t attempt anything less than a 30 yard FG. For punting, it could be similar, maybe multiple options like “From OWN ____ to OPP/OWN ____” and you select “own 1 to opponent 45” or if you have a massive legged punter and never want to punt in opposing territory, “own 1 to own 49” or something

Fair Catch logic needs some love.  I don't think I've ever seen a fair catch at the 1 IRL, but it feels like I see it happen here multiple times a week.

This game is in OT.  Jackson State scored a TD in their drive.  So Alabama A&M needs to score a TD to keep the game going, but they kick a FG on 4th and end the game.
