Clock times look kinda weird here. Not sure what 1:9 was supposed to be, but burning a full minute off the clock with a completed pass and a fair caught punt is interesting

NFL Week 1

1. Box Score Incorrect

Safety in play-by-play is not reflected in the box score:

2. Play Calling / 4th Down Logic

Late in the 1st half Pittsburgh attempts a 4th and long deep in their own territory. They fail to convert and give up a touchdown before halftime.

CFB Week 2 UCLA @ WMU

2nd Quarter safety in the Play-by-play is not reflected in the box score. Furthermore, even though WMU kicked off afterwards, the description suggests a defensive TD instead of a safety.

Week 2 New Mexico vs SMU

My team scored a TD as time expired in the 2nd Quarter. At the start of the 3rd, SMU kicked off because they started the game with the ball. Immediately after the return my team kicked off to them.

NFL Week 3 Sunday Noon, Den v Ten: https://www.simfba.com/index.php?threads/week-3-sunday-noon.3529/

Denver Kicker went 1/3 on conversions, 0/2 on kicks, and then this is an additional missed kick that was blocked by his own player - but wasn't registered as a missed kick in the statline. The rest of the kicks are accounted for in the play-by-play.

Unsure if this is a counting issue for the boxscore or something else is supposed to happen on this play, since it says our own backup C blocked the kick(!?). Was it supposed to register as something else or can your own players do that?

Week 3 Friday Night, Washington @ WMU.

Play-by-play shows the WASH QB getting sacked by WMU for a safety right before halftime, but the 2 points are given to UW and they get the ball kicked to them. The safety does not show up in the box score.

Week 3 Friday - West Virginia at Army

Army FB Lamar Smith is credited with a fumble, but no one on WVU is credited with a force fumble. There is also no mention of a Lamar Smith fumble in the play by play.

Folks have mentioned several more examples of this happening. A team going for 4th and long in their own territory near the end of the first half.

A couple things happened in the MINN ND game

MINNRobert MorontaDT201110

Here we see my DT get credited for a FF and it was recovered by my ILB Reggie Gordon but no where in the play by play does a fumble happen for ND nor does ND have a fumble loss in their stats.

00113:29MINN31050PassQB Adrian Johnson intercepted by FS Le'Raven Simonson returned to 0 yards from the LOS. intended for WR Doug Rowe.
00113:9MINN41050PuntP Larry Anzalone punts for 55 yards. Touchback

Here it shows that I threw an interception, but it looks like it was ruled an incomplete pass. The player got credited for an interception, but somehow I kept possession of the ball to be able to Punt.

I posted a screenshot of the thing discussed on discord because it was the easiest way for me to share.

On 3rd and 12 the offense throws an incompletion, but also has a penalty for offensive pass interference making it 3rd and 22.

Irl the defense would decline that penalty because it would have been 4th and long and the offense was backed up in their own territory. Not sure if the sim has logic on declining penalties when it makes sense, but this is one of those times.

A few things from PBP:

242038:8HAWI11028 HAWIRunRB Richard Bianchi carries for 6 yards. Tackled by DE Rymer Kingsale. PENALTY: Illegal Double-Team Block OG Jalen Baylis
242037:45HAWI11424 HAWIRunRB Richard Bianchi carries for 7 yards. Tackled by DT Matt Lutz.

The only times a "double-team block" are illegal would be on a kickoff return (Illegal Wedge) or a high-low or low-high block in combination (Chop Block). In both cases, these are 15-yard penalties. Here, there appears to be a 4-yard penalty enforcement. The only way with penalty would wind up being a 4-yard difference from the previous spot would be if the illegal block occurred 11 yards downfield and the run ended there or beyond. And chop blocks NEVER occur downfield. They only happen at the LOS or backfield. Here, it was a 6-yard gain. So, it would be impossible for the foul to be enforced from the Hawaii 39-yard line.

383445:41SDSU11040 SDSUPassQB Hung-Chih Anderson incomplete. Intended for TE Kahlil Gohara. PENALTY: Defensive Holding ILB J.P. Frare
383445:21SDSU11045 SDSUPassQB Hung-Chih Anderson complete to WR Kevin Smith for 0 yards. Tackled by CB Joey Benjamin.

In college football, Defensive Holding of an eligible receiver is a 10-yard penalty and automatic first down (starting in 2022, even if there is no forward pass that crosses the line of scrimmage) But it's been 10 for many years.
