"With the 36th pick in the 2022 SimFBA Draft, the Tennessee Titans select ...

The Tennessee Titans front office and coaching staff were beside themselves as a consensus Top 10 talent Tommy Marimon, Defensive End, from the "The" Ohio State fell to them early in the 2nd round.

Marimon will be penciled in to start immediately and provide a consistent pass rush and get to the quarterbacks here in the AFC South. With the likes of Rashaan Lyons and Matt Howard entering the division, the need to put pressure on the quarterback became a priority for the Titans.

With the addition of ball-hawking defensive back Kendal Shaffer, the Titans were able to address a need to find a partner to pair with William Johnson. This pick addresses that need and helps the Titans shore up the corners of their defense to help handle the onslaught of passing sure to abound in the AFC South of the years.

With the addition of Daniel Lopez, the Titans were able to add a run stuffer that brings huge upside to the Titans linebacker corp. With almost 50% of his tackles being tackles for loss (19 TFL) he will be able to pair up with defensive end John Goetz to stuff the run and force the opposing offenses to be one-dimensional.

Greg Brown brings a level of toughness and grit that is needed on this Titans team. Not afraid to put his nose into the box and take on opposing running backs, Brown also has shown the range to cover the middle of the field. With 57 solo tackles, 4 assists and 2 TFL to go with his 2 INTs last year, the future looks bright for the Titan's secondary.

Garret Tazawa, like his counterpart Daniel Lopez, excels on playing on the other side of the line of scrimmage. Of his 42 tackles, 23 were tackles for loss and add in his 3 sacks and forced fumble, Tazawa will be a solid contributor to the Titans defense and a headache to opposing quarterbacks.

With their first offensive selection of the draft, the Titans snag University of Buffalo wide receiver Frank Tarpley. During his senior season, Tarpley had 54 catches for 867 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tarpley's 16.05 yards per catch and his ability to run routes over the middle will be a welcome addition for Titan's quarterback Chad Williams and newly acquired tight end Randy Wright.

LuisGay.thumb.png.ee6c8c1b745fee268ec6b8984bad6edc.png

Charlotte Free Safety Luis Gay was a clear need pick for the Titan's secondary. Rangy center fielder-type who is not afraid to tackle is the best way to describe Luis Gay.

ReyesChubb.thumb.png.a45d2703beefc6ba44ca3f304ce72702.png

Having addressed their most pressing needs, the Titans switch gears and snag a developmental quarterback in Reyes Chubb from Purdue. Having the opportunity to throw in a high-volume passing scheme and throwing to arguably the best tight end in the country, Devontae McKinney, Chubb was overlooked. Completing 665% of his passes for almost 4700 yards and 36 touchdowns, the Titans were willing to give the CFB Playoff quarterback a chance to learn under Willaims and develop into a solid back-up.

Michigan State cornerback Luke Garvin provides some much-needed depth to the Titans secondary, as does his propensity to find the ball with his 6 INTs.

Nevada Wolfpack K/P Dorren Peraza will be given the opportunity to win the kicker or punter job this pre-season.

Nothing screams Southern hospitality than the selection of Cornhusker wide receiver Chukwuma Valentine. Valentine will be given an opportunity to compete for a spot on the main roster whether as a #4 or #5 wideout or on special teams.
