Below is a breakdown position-by-position of (from L-R) their current roster, what they did on the trail, and the grade I gave them in recruiting that position.

PositionCurrent position gradeCurrent statusRecruiting statusCrooting Grade
CC-Signed 3 stars with C potential the last 2 cyclesSigned a pair of 3 stars, C and C+ potential. Not sure this position warrants 2 signees, but one of them should pan outC
CBB-Had a great class 2 cycles ago with a 4 star and a 3 star B-, both of whom are B overalls. Signed 2 three stars with C/C+ potential which should be serviceable as they age up. Both are also zone coverage, as they lock in their preferred schemeC
DEA-Great, great room here. Have their 5 star A overall sophomore and a 4 star B freshman with a 3 star A potential freshman. Very impressedBest position group on signing day. A 4 star C balanced DE is a good pickup on his own, but Weston Steelhammer is the best recruit in this class. B overall, B potential speed rusher from nearby Albuquerque. If I'm not wrong he was initially looking elsewhere, but the pokes won him over to bolster their frontA-
DTAWow, their front is really good. At DT last year they signed a 5 star with B- potential who looks like an anchor for the next 3 yearsAdded another 4 star here to make their front-4 one of the most imposing in college footballB
FBA+This might be the best position room in all of college football. The last 3 cycles they signed a 4 star A- potential, a 5 star, and a 4 star B potential. You have to think they're going to be playing some of these guys at RB, and they'll probably light it upAdded an average 3 star, but he's not going to get many snapsB-
FSDComing back down to earth, they have 3 on roster, all are below average 2 starsGreat place to add both a solid 4 star and average 3 starB-
ILBCGot an A potential 3 star who's a sophomore, but still only a C overall. Not much impressive last cycleSigned another average 3 star C guyC
KD+2 stars the last 2 classes, although they are at least C overalls nowDidn't sign anyC
OGC+Got a nice B overall 4 star pickup last cycle, but he needs a pairing as there are only 2 stars around himDidn't sign anyD
OLBCOnly 3 on the roster, 3 C, 3C, 3CAdded two more, one 3C and an upgrade in a 4 star C+ out of Arlington TXB-
OTB-Lots of high potential 3 stars here, so they should be fairly goot hereAdded two more 3 stars with above average potentialC
PF?They have none at all on the roster? Is that right?Wide open spot, whoever they sign will start day 1. They picked up a 3 star with B- potential, so he's above average for a recruit, and hopefully progresses well from seeing 100% play timeC+
QBB-Their current long term plan seems to be last years signee: pocket Dewayne who's a 4 star B overall. Not a bad future prospectAdded two more 3 stars with about average potential to serve as depth/backup optionsC
RBB-They have a B overall 4 star sophomore currently leading the way, with some high potential 3 stars last yearAdded an ok 3 star who will likely just be a depth pieceC
SSB+They have a 4 star B overall each of the last 2 years so they are well set hereAdded another average 3 star, not the most important position to address for them thoughC
TEB-Their 5 star threat is going to be a senior this season, and they only have a pair of eh 3s to try and replace him with next year. This was probably their 2nd best position grouping though, as Mike Andrews is a 4 star prospect with A potential, and they added a 3 star with B potential as wellB
WRB-Stables are full with above average potential 3s and a sophomore 4 starPicked up another 4 star B overall to slide in and compete for playing timeB-

OK State definitely worked on some of their pipelines, as they signed just about every player from Texas or the greater southwest. They left 2 scholarships unused, and I was disappointed they didn't sign an OG that they really needed. I'd say overall, they had a reasonable recruiting class, but it didn't quite match up to their needs. It seemed like they were recruiting a "base" class that didn't really have many holes, but their roster didn't need to upgrade or solidify as it is pretty imbalanced in the first place with a few star-studded groups, a few duds, and a lot of slightly above average. I don't think very many of their 3 star C signees will see much time as they're almost all behind players slightly better than them. I would have preferred seeing a more targeted approach, but overall they do have talent and brought in talent so it's not too bad

Below is a breakdown position-by-position of (from L-R) their current roster, what they did on the trail, and the grade I gave them in recruiting that position.

PositionCurrent position gradeCurrent statusRecruiting statusCrooting Grade
CCSigned a B- potential 3 star last cycleDidn't sign anyC
CBC+A good mix of above average poential 3 stars hereSigned a trio of ball hawking CBs, 3 stars with B potential, and one of their 2 best croots: a B overall 4 starB+
DEB+4 star B potential B overalls each of the last 2 cycles are a strong, young nucleusAdded another 4 star speed rusher out of wisconsin along with a B- potential 3 starB-
DTB-Another mix of quite good 3 stars who are going to be solid B playersAdded two more 3 stars, including a B+ potential nose tackle out of Florida. Should be a good position groupC+
FBB-A B overall, A potential 3 star is on roster as a sophomoreI'm not sure about taking 2 FBs, but they are both good 3 stars with B+/A- potentialsB-
FSC+Some average-ish 3 stars currently on rosterSigned another one of those to keep the room stableC
ILBC-Aside from one rising senior, everyone else here is a below average 2 star. Not greatSigned a pair of 3 star B potential options who will definitely need to produce sooner than later with the lack of talent above themC+
KCExtremely average room here, but serviceableSigned one of the best kickers available, a 4 star with B- potentialB
OGC+Great 4 star B B sophomore, but again only 2 stars available to hold down the other starting slotDidn't sign anyD
OLBC-Mix of ok 3s and 2s hereAdded a pair of above average 3s along with a nice 4 star out of Houston. Good upgrade for the roomB-
OTC+Similar here: a lot of slightly above average 3 starsSigned a pair of run blocker 3s, including a B potential guy who could push for time as an upperclassmaC
PD+A pair of medicore 2sSigned a 3 star B+ guy who is a solid upgradeC+
QBB-Looks like their future starter will be a scrambler, either sophomore A+ potential (but still only C overall) Aaron Diaz, or freshman 4 star B overall Tyler SummersThrowing his hat in the ring is B- potential Dustin, a scrambler out of Pensacola, FLC
RBB-They had a good 4 star sophomore, but should start looking around for his understudySigned a B- potential 3 star who looks alrightC
SSC-Some ok potential 2 stars, but should upgradeDidn't sign anyD
TEB-An ok freshman, and a B overall 4 star sophomore have this room looking solidAdded a 4 star blocking TE, a 3 star blocker, and a 4 star receiving with A- potential and A+ name (Steel Blue). Great haul for the JayhawksB+
WRCA long list of ok 3 stars hereSigned another ok 3 with B- potentialC

An interesting strategy to target Wisconsin, but they found a lot of good players. The position distribution could have been a little better imo as they heavily focused on defense and GB/TE positions while ignoring the interior O line. I actually think their signees complement the roster pretty well, but not signing any at some key positions hurts a little. I think Kansas should be on the upswing in the future, although you have to wonder whether their recruiting involved lots of shotguns and uncommitable offers, or if they were processing kids near signing day
