• Akron is the big surprise here as in my Preseason Power Rankings I noted that they would struggle to stay in bowl game contention. Ohio has managed to overachieve but it's no surprise that them or Western Michigan will be playing in a bowl game.

• I feel like I'm actually giving Central Michigan the benefit of the doubt here since the Independent teams are very tricky to predict and Western Michigan will likely be favored in their matchup. If Bowling Green can stop Ohio's offense this week, they have a chance for an upset and Toledo will be a massive underdog in Week 13.

• Kent State has a very tough noncon game and then faces the best team in the conference. I have to say I don't like their chances for a win in either. It wouldn't surprise me if Ball State beats both Eastern Michigan and Northern Illinois, which would eliminate both from bowl contention. Will Miami (OH) beat Liberty? Entirely possible. Will they beat Ohio? No.
