Ohio def. Buffalo 34-23

Western Michigan def. Eastern Michigan 31-15

Kent State def. Northern Illinois 19-14

UNLV def. Toledo 17-3

Bye: Miami (OH), Central Michigan

Best performance of the week: Ohio def. Buffalo 34-23

We know that Ohio is a good team (they're 4-1 with their only loss to 5-1 Akron), but Buffalo has been looking like a solid team in the East with no conference losses going into this game. And Buffalo has a very good defense. That didn't stop Yusei Asencio from going for 440 yards with 4 TDs. They also should be happy with a season high 101 yards on the ground.

Worst performance of the week: UNLV def. Toledo 17-3

Toledo had 65 total yards of offense. 42 yards through the air and 23 on the ground. Was it against a good UNLV team? Yes. But 65 yards of offense in 4 quarters of football makes me think they might want to go back to the drawing board.

Offensive Player of the Week: RB Jurickson Elflein, Bowling Green, 34 atts 287 yards 4 TDs, 1 recs 39 yards vs Hawaii

Defensive Player of the Week: DE Yoel Bender, Buffalo, 5 Tkls 4 TFLs 2 Sacks vs Ohio

Special Teams Player of the Week: K Zoilo Gono, Buffalo, 3-3 FGs 2-2 XPs vs Ohio

Western Michigan is beginning to pull after after a win this week, but Central Michigan had the week off so no movement from them either direction. Ball State had possibly the best game of the season with their 1-point loss, which would've helped a lot in getting them to a bowl game this year. The rest of their games are winnable. Toledo struggled again this week, as they continue to look to next season.

Akron's win over Ohio continues to look good for them. Their game against Bowling Green in Week 9 continues to be a big matchup as they'll be looking to make up for an embarrassing loss to Hawaii. This division continues to impress on the season as every team still has dreams of a bowl game.
