Rivalry ends with a clear winner.

With the season well underway, New Mexico vs. New Mexico State was a highly anticipated rivalry, the battle over New Mexico Football.

 

With both teams only having one win under their belt, both were hungry to prove themselves and leave the other in the dust.

 

 

The night started off a thriller with both teams matching each other stride for stride. At the end of the first quarter the score sat at 10-10.

Star UNM QB Daurice Maile commented "We were expecting an easy matchup. After the first though, it was clear New Mexico State could hold their weight with us."

 

 

What seemed like a game that would come down to the wire, quickly turned into a total domination by the University of New Mexico. Maile took over throwing for over 440 yards and 3 TDs. Things went the opposite for the rivals QB Wilfredo Joseph, who finished the game with less than 50 yards.

 

The University of New Mexico made it clear who the top dog in this fight was.
