RB Jim Whitehead, Memphis

The first ever AAC POTW award goes to RB Jim Whitehead of Memphis. Whitehead represented nearly all of the Tigers offensive production as they defeated Middle Tennessee 14-7 in the first game of the season. Whitehead tallied 114 yards on 33 rushing attempts on top of his 117 receiving yards and 2 touchdown receptions.

DE Jason Allen, Temple

Jason Allen got the Owls off to a dominant start to the season, pitching a 23-0 shutout in their Week 1 win over Rutgers. Allen proved to be the anchor of this strong Temple defense, recording 10 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and half a sack.
