Best performance of the week: Western Michigan def Clemson 40-0

Shoutout to Ohio's 27-3 victory over Miami (FL), but there is no doubt that Western Michigan showed scary dominance on both sides of the ball on the road in their game against Clemson. QB Scribner put up very impressive numbers and the Broncos had 3 WRs go over 100 yards receiving including WR Marcus Ekstrom hauling in 9 catches for 216 yards and 3 TDs. Their defensive performance needs to be praised as well, shutting out the Tigers in "Death Valley." DE Ryan Semien had 3 TFLs and a sack while CB D'Angelo Baldwin and ILB Andrew Nuno had a pick each. To round it all out, K Luis Cunningham was a perfect 4-4 in FGs.

Worst performance of the week: NC State defeated Central Michigan 24-21

The Chippewas entered the season with a lot of expectations, being the only MAC team ranked in the preseason top 25, and their debut was a dud. QB Jamie Holmes threw the ball well enough, however 3 Ints proved to be too much against a solid NC State team. Throw in a fumble from RB Tanner Lake, who had 97 yards on 24 carries, and you'll see how Central Michigan did more harm to themselves than good. It's still early in the season and this team has the talent to win a lot of games, but they'll need to rebound with a cleaner performance against ECU next week.

Offensive Player of the Week: QB Theo Scribner, Western Michigan, 39-50 578 Yards 3 TDs vs Clemson

Defensive Player of the Week: ILB Tyler Ramsey, Ohio, 8 Tkls 4 TFLs vs Miami (FL)

Special Teams Player of the Week: K Luis Cunningham, Western Michigan, 4-4 FGs 4-4 XPs vs Clemson

Offensive Freshman of the Week: No Freshman skilled position players recorded a statline this week.

Defensive Freshman of the Week: ILB JT Jungmann, Toledo, 12 Tkls 1 TFL vs TCU
