After many close calls, Senior Forward Keith Sanchez has won his first National Player of the Week award. He was able to sit down for a quick interview with SageBow.

 

Congratulations Keith on winning the National Player of the Week award. What's it mean to you to receive this first national accolade?

 

It means so much, man I have been waiting a long time to get one of these. Raymond has been teasing me all the time about it too lol. I'm very glad to feel like I'm peaking at the end of the season rather than the beginning

 

You had a hot start to the season, but Raymond seems to have taken over through the mid point. Sitting with one week before conference tournaments, you two are probably the most dynamic duo in the South. What's it going to take for the Vols to win this tournament?

 

Honestly I think we just have to keep up this consistency and tempo. We’ve planned our season around peaking for the tournament and if you look at the last few weeks you can see how wet we all are.

 

Lets get to your past performances. A scorching 32 point game against Iowa State, how did you light up the Cyclones last week?

 

Simple, I put the ball in the basket.

*Laughs* but really I have to thank my teammates, I was feeling it and when that happens I think we all know to feed the hot hand. I think it was probably all La Croix I had before hand.

 

Favorite flavor of La Croix? You sound like a connoisseur.

 

Pamplemousse for sure. I dunno what a pamplemousse is but I like it. What can I say, I'm a cultured guy. I spent last summer in Europe and it was a blast. I have a slideshow of pictures if you want to see them or peruse my travel blog.
