I am putting up a public vote since this change would occur during and affect the current season.

Current Rule:

If multiple teams have reached the “Ready to Sign” interest level and have offered scholarships, the player will not sign until the final recruiting week (unless a team rescinds their scholarship offer prior to that time or a team fills its entire roster).

Proposed Rule:

If multiple teams have reached the “Ready to Sign” interest level and have offered scholarships, the player will have a 50/50 chance of deciding to sign during that week (must still be a week when recruits can sign). If the recruit decides to sign, a weighted roll between all eligible teams will occur. If the recruit decides to not sign during that week, they will again have a 50/50 decision chance during the next available signing week (unless a team rescinds their scholarship offer prior to that time or a team fills its entire roster).

Reasoning:

Not all contested recruits wait until the end of the recruiting period to sign. This would allow some to contested recruits to sign during Week 8 or Week 9 instead of waiting until Week 10. It would also give the chance of a contested recruit signing on Early Signing Day, but there were no such cases that occurred this season. This would give some teams the chance to scramble and sign a different recruit during the last weeks if they lose out on a top prospect instead of having to take a walk-on.
