  8. Got it. so man skills used for man coverage and zone skills for zone coverage. How is number of safeties figured?
  9. Mike Zhao, Outside Linebacker 6’2” 231 lbs, Tesoro High School A defensive chess piece capable of playing across the defensive front. An Offensive Coordinator’s nightmare. A rare type of prospect that has risen through the rankings each game in the last two seasons. Some coaches see Zhao’s versatility as more of a “front 7 tweener” and less of the modern era's prototypical outside edge rushing linebackers. During his sophomore season, Zhao was more of the hand-in-the-dirt edge rusher amassing 3.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss. But, with his transition to more of a mobile, versatile pass rusher, like his favorite player Khalil Mack, Zhao showcased his athleticism propelling him up the rankings averaging 9.5 tackles per game, 3.5 sacks, and 4 interceptions during his junior campaign leading the Titans as the unequivocal leader of the Titans defense. Mike Zhao will be one of the most intriguing defenders in the class of 2022 given his skillset as he could make an impact in a variety of different ways on Saturdays. Likely to emerge as a stand-up ‘backer that can rush the quarterback on some downs and drop back into coverage on others. Zhao gives defensive coordinators flexibility and that should garner him a lot of interest his Senior season. Zhao had this to say about the recruiting process: “I’m just open to listening to everyone right now. There are a lot of great things about all the programs. I just want one that will give me a great education and set me up to eventually make it into the NFL someday. I know I have a gift and that this will help me get an education. Right now, the focus is on leading the Titans into the CIF playoffs this season and have my list down to the top contenders figured out by mid-season.”
  10. Madison, WI The Wisconsin Badgers Men’s Basketball program was able to wrap up an impressive five-player recruiting class, headlined by La Crosse’s Central High School 4-star forward, Jerome Kersee. 4-star guards John Lopez (Billings West HS, Billings MT), Michael Vanhorn (Commonwealth Academy, Warwick, RI), international signee Matthew Garrison (Spain) and Wyoming 4-star forward William Harris (Rock Springs HS). Jerome Kersee, Forward, 6’7” “I really liked Coach Wheeler’s energy and transparency throughout the recruiting process. He understood that being close to home so my Momma and sisters could watch me play and was willing to make that happen. I knew the Badgers were the team for me, and really didn’t want to distract myself with other teams. I am just glad that I can get a good education and that my family can watch me as I work toward getting to the next level.” Coach Wheeler - “He is a hard worker and really prides himself on being a defender first and a scorer second. He has the ability to really dominate the wing position with us and with his slashing ability should give some serious match-up problems with opposing teams. Look forward to pairing him alongside Ian McCall, Andrew Long, Jeremy Booth, and (William) Harris to really solidify the paint for us.” William Harris, 6’-8”, Forward “I have always wanted to get out of my little corner of Wyoming and see more of this country, and with my commitment to WIsconsin and playing in the Big Ten I will get a chance to do that too. Obviously, being from Wyoming cold doesn’t bother me all that much. Coach Wheeler was a straight shooter with me and the family and said that I will get a top-notch education as well as set myself up to make the jump up into the NBA in the future. They have a top-notch pre-med program and I see that being a huge plus.” Coach Wheeler - “Harris has a long wingspan which really helps with his defense. He is a strong defender that has a soft jumper from about 15 feet in. His shooting and defense will get him a long way, especially considering the competition we face with our scheduling each season. He and Kersee will be a very dynamic pairing for the next couple of years.” John Lopez, 6’-1”, Guard “I have been talking to coach Wheeler for almost two years now. He has shown a lot of love. It's his second year in Wisconsin, so I am excited to see what he can do. He has the Badgers moving in the right direction and I felt like I wanted to be a part of that. So, On Wisconsin.” Coach Wheeler - “John is a hard-working player that doesn’t back down from a challenge. Having played in Billings he is no stronger to harsh conditions and overcoming challenges. With his ballhandling skills and being able to shoot off the dribble, he will do really well against the Big Ten opponents.” Michael Vanhorn, 5’-10”, Guard “ Coach Wheeler has a great basketball mind and knows what it takes to get there and to stay there and that's what I am trying to do. I see myself being a big piece of this Badger team from day one, especially with Barnes and Long both graduating this year. Yeah, I have what it takes and Coach saw that.” Coach Wheeler - “Michael is a great example of players using their natural abilities to make themselves and their teammates better. Not only can he handle the rock, but he also has an excellent shooting stroke too. Regardless of the fact he is not six-foot, he will be a dynamic presence on the court and be very much a part of every game while he is here.” Matthew Garrison, 5’-11”, Guard “Coach Wheeler is really cool and has been very helpful in helping me navigate the intricacies of the NCAA and student VISA policies. I have really enjoyed getting to know him and look forward to being in Madison. I am truly grateful that basketball is an inside game since I am not used to cold winters.” Coach Wheeler - “Had the opportunity to see Matthew play a couple of times over the summer in the European League tryouts and last year in the exhibition games they played. Great ball-handler and a great shooter from behind the arc. His versatility in shooting will create mismatch problems for defenders and he will make them pay with his diverse arsenal of shots.”
  11. hmmm so tempted to drop to FCS ... so tempted
  12. Benjamin Iannuzzi, WR (Possession), 5 Star Even though Tigard Football had a down year in 2022, 5 Star WR Ben Iannuzzi (Jr) was able to have a major impact on the success of the Tiger's season and looks forward to having an even greater impact in 2023. “Growing up in the suburbs of Portland, you get to see a lot of great football with three Pac-12 schools within a few hours' drive,”, said Iannuzzi. “Huskies, Ducks, Beavers, and even the Cougs are close. You get to see all the best of the west coast and see how you get to stack up.” “I have attended summer camps the last two years with several of the PAC-12 schools and learned a lot about how to better myself. I am looking forward to the Elite Wide Receiver Football Camp and a chance to work the Elite 11 Camps as well. Will be fun running routes and catching some footballs from the best quarterbacks in 2023.” “Who was my favorite player growing up? Well, Dad was really into Steve Largent. I always liked Thielen and Kupp. They are more my style of play. Never been a deep threat but let me work in space and get some yards after the catch - that is what I live for.” “As for the recruiting, it is starting to pick up now. I look forward to seeing who it is that reaches out to me. Being a West Coast kid, the Rose Bowl game and the B1G/Pac-12 rivalry has always been something I have loved to watch. But I am really leaning on going to the school that has a top-notch biomedical engineering program. Really don’t care where that is.” “As for making my decision, I would like to get that locked up before the end of my senior season. Would rather know where I am going and really get to know the coaches and what they expect from me before I step on campus.”
  13. Quentin Arnold, OT (run blocking), 4 star Swainsboro Tigers Football stormed their way through their schedule this season to a 12-0 record and will face Irwin County in the Division 1A semi-finals. The high-powered Tiger’s offensive attack is anchored by Offensive Tackle Quentin Arnold. Quentin Arnold, the consensus #1 offensive lineman and Top 15 recruit in the country, has been dominant at his offensive tackle position having allowed zero quarterback sacks s in his first year as a varsity starter. Arnold earned the team’s HOG Award for the best offensive lineman and received an honorable mention on the Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Georgia. Arnold is expecting to continue to build on this year’s success as he will be attending the Jesse Sapulo Men In The Trenches (MITT) Academy and participating in the 6th Annual Super Lineman Competition. When asked about the recruiting process, his timeline, and who he has been in contact with, Quentin was very open about what he favors and when he will be making his decision about which college he will attend. “It has really been a trip having coaches from all over the country come to our games. I knew they were here to see some of the other guys, but then more and more coaches would approach me after the game and talk to me, my mom and my sister, ‘Nique. It’s been kind of overwhelming to say the least. No one in our family has made it all the way through college, let alone have it paid for to play a game. I guess to me, having a good education that will set me and my family up after I graduate is the most important. I mean, I want to have something good when I am done. Even if I am Blessed to play in the NFL, I still want to have something to fall back on. I think it is something like 15 or 20 schools sending me information and wanting to talk with my mom and me. Thank God that Coach (Tim) Roberts is there to sit with me and help me understand what they are offering. I mean everyone is a great school and they all have a lot to offer, but I need to do what is best for my family and me I guess. I have some time before I decide. I would like to have like 5 top schools figured out by the start of the next football season and make my choice after our state title next season. Yeah, I think we are that good to make a run at the title again. Would make me look even better to those Top 5 schools I guess.”
  14. Thanks, Coach. Your Alabama offense has been fairly consistent this season in scoring, what do you attribute the fall off with your squad in this game?
  15. Coach: Williams had a reduced role in the fourth quarter, what was the thought process behind that? Was there an undisclosed injury or did something else have a factor in that? Thank you.
  16. Wisconsin Men's Basketball Suffers Set Back By Ruth Styles November 12, 2022 Wisconsin Badgers Men's Basketball team suffered a minor set back when Sophomore Center, Ian McCall, decided to redshirt this year after his most recent accident. McCall was with several members of the Badger's basketball team out at local fan favorite's, Short Stack Eatery, when McCall hit his head on a low doorway going to the restroom knocking him unconscious. Team doctor's and McCall decided that it was best to redshirt this year to make sure that there were no side effects from the concussion he suffered. McCall is looking to be back to full strength for next season.

  20. there is some merit here, but dont see doubling the total points as a solution. Maybe deciding if this is a game or a real life simulation would help guide this choice. - Each team has number of scholarships equal to their number of departing players. - Each scholarship is equal 3 points per week. This would allow for teams to have a varying degree of "budget" each season based on the number of scholarships available. One year a team may have 25 players leaving and the next year only 8. It will impact strategy and would force depth building and long-term recruiting strategies.
