  4. wow this sounds like it must be an 18 year old boy with a slightly high voice ? Real talk, very quality content, don't feel nervous or anxious on how you sound because all of the rest of us are also football nerds who are probably in the same boat Putting out a 25 minute show is amazing! I like the transitioning slides and everything. If I had more time I'd try to pump out video content too, video editing has always been fun for me (you can ask @subsequent ? ) and it looks like you're having fun with it too. Its hard to keep up with what every conference is doing out there, so media like this makes it stand out. Great job
  5. I was busy at work this past week so this week you'll get Double Dozen ? maybe this will be a more regular way of doing this column. Large Dozen The Big 12's relativelyWeekly Recap Show We have a LOT to talk about in this edition of Large Dozen III. Two weeks of games have happened, and conference play is set to begin next week! When I lived near and worked in Madison, WI in 2015 when I was first thrust into the world of the post-college "gap year" experience. I was really struggling with life in general. And then I rediscovered Pretty Lights, and listened to a TON of his music on my rides to and from work. It was good, healing. Now I may get heat from John Denver faithful, but if you click the above title, it'll take you to a Pretty Lights remix of Country Roads that was a staple in keeping me tethered to reality. Now that I've gotten that out of the way, someone getting the WVU Mountaineers tethered to reality is @smackemz. In Week 1, I said that they'd live and die on the decision making of QB Musa, no matter if potential chad RB, Chad Dolis, plays exceptionally. Last week at Liberty, Musa did enough - 224 yards, 66%+, 1 TD, no turnovers - while Dolis added 91 on 22 carries for a score with 57 more yards coming on 8 receptions, as they took the liberty of beating, well, Liberty. This week at Army, Musa continued to struggle to take games over - regressing to 50% and no TDs, but 200+ and NO TURNOVERS again. Dolis grinded out 96 yards on 27 carries, while underrated WR Avery Sterling exploded with 3 catches for 110 yards. Outside of DT Jeurys Rogers (8 tackles, 1 Asst., 1.5 TFL, 1.0 Sack across last 2 games) and DE Mike Anderson (11 tackles, 3 Asst., 5 TFL, 1.5 Sacks) the Mountaineers don't do much particularly exceptional on defense, and punter Brent Martin has struggled mightily this year - but Smack Daddy has notched 2 important, consecutive wins onto the dub column, and they need to fight for "just" 4 more to earn a bowl game. It won't be easy - everyone knows their bread and butter - but they know they're probably going into every remaining game as the underdog, and this is the right makeup of team to make some noise. Kansas has had 2 weeks off since their closely contested game against Michigan, sliding into the Top 10 of the Coaches Poll very briefly and just falling out in the Week 2 iteration. Their coach has gone on record as "hating open dates and bye weeks" which led to the early pause in play, and with students now back into their fall routine, the anticipation is there for more football to happen. The Jayhawks host Iowa State this week to begin their slate of 11 consecutive games. Iowa State The Cyclones have remained coachless, and are halfway through a month long stretch of road games. In Week 2, they got thumped 23-0 against future conference mate Cincinnati, struggling to do anything through the air and seeing their potent ground attack held to just 72 yards over 28 carries. RB Johnny Young managed 100 combined rushing and receiving yards, but many folks out in Ames went to bed in order to get up for work on Friday rather than watching the conclusion of the beatdown. QB Justise Smith continues to be the teams kicker, missing a FG in the Cincy game. The big Iowa Corn CyHawk rivalry game this week between Iowa State and Iowa was different though. Smith torched the Hawkeyes through the air for 370 yards and a TD, Young ran every direction he wanted to with 2 TDs and 188 yards, and he added 56 yards and a TD through receiving while TE Trey Diaz went off for 9/165. Smith connected on 3/3 XPs and 2/3 FGs, and they bested their in-state rival 27-14. OLB Michael Kennedy had 6 tackles, 2 asst. tackles, and 2 TFL, and joked to the media that maybe they should have played Drake or the Upper Iowa Peacocks for tougher competition. Texas Its been awhile since Texas played a game - not as long off as Kansas, but I'm sure the Longhorns are still chomping at the bit to get some action in. @joopear , for those that don't remember, came over late in the offseason, after the previous Texas coach had to resign during the 2021 season while the university conducted investigation into his nefarious affairs. The Big 12 has yet to punish said coach outside of requiring he stay in the Big 12's discord, but its left some mystery in the air about Texas' gameplan. Texas had to travel to the famed Jordan-Hare to take on Auburn in Week 2, and pass happy Hanser Zagurski struggled mightily, heaving up 42 throws, completing less than half of them, but managing 280 yards and a TD. The Texas OL let up 4 sacks, and Zagurski looked worse for wear post game, showing a bruised ribcage and bloodied elbow on his Twitter account. Auburn, on the other hand, could throw all day, dropping 411 yards on the Texas defense. If Auburn QB Andrew Moncrief was slightly better, he may have known not to target decorated CB Matt Viloria, who snagged 2 INTS which may have sealed the game. Texas has work to do if they want to compete for a conference title - but they've got a lot for their freshly hired coach to work with. Texas Tech For outsiders, the Red Raiders came into this season with zero expectations. For coach @rcarlson77 , they wanted to live the Raider motto - Just Win Baby. And Winning is all they've done. After a big W against the Buffalo Bulls as a historic feat for team and coach alike, Tech had an open date followed by a matchup with 2021 contender Purdue. Traveling to Indiana, the Boilermakers were big favorites, but QB Xavier Means and RB Glover Evans squeaked out a victory by churning dust up on the ground. They didn't rush for a ton of yards individually, they didn't have big ESPN highlight reel plays - but their 3 combined TDs and clutch kicking by Luis Terdoslavich saw them come away with another victory. TCU TCU came into this year with championship aspirations - not just the conference, but for the national title. They have the roster to do it, and coach @Giambro is a good fit for the team - but lacking coaching last year has already been a big blow to a team trying to make waves in the very football packed state of Texas. This week, they took on a very good Texas State team - good enough to be the #2 school in the Coaches Poll - but they got obliterated start to finish, and with this game, maybe so too their playoff hopes. Andrew Solano played decently with 364 yards and no INT, but he couldn't outduel Texas State QB Justin DeShields, who had 513 yards and 3 TD. Outside of WR Oren Colon, who has been force fed, the TCU receivers haven't lived up to their billing. The defense allowed a 106 yard receiver, AND a 221 yard receiver, one of the greatest receiving days of the season across college football. They're going to probably have to run the table to get a shot at a rematch - but they're not far off from being able to do it. If they can help punter Lenny Corbett, who had to boot 11 punts, from being on the field, they're one to watch. Baylor Baylor played at Washington State in Week 2 - an emotional game for Wazzu coach @TuscanSota with his ties to the team. Freshman sensation David Ross looked solid for Washington State, but following a 14-7 1st quarter potential upset alert, Baylor was in control the rest of the way out. QB Travis Knebel is still showing growing pains when trying to throw the football, but when he rolls out or tucks it - wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww he is a greased up pig out there. Knebel and Dietrich Smith combined for 256 rushing yards and 3 TD. Baylor suffered an early loss to Texas State themselves - but if they can get Knebel passing just enough to keep defenses from selling out against the run, this team should be a playoff candidate. Oklahoma The Sooners join fellow 1-loss, formerly FAVORITE contenders Baylor and TCU, as a team fighting to not be on the outside looking in. Their loss, though, came against practically undisputed #1 Kentucky. Pace Frandsen still looked decent, but not as other worldly, and while Mat Moore looked exciting on the ground, early deficit kept him from being used as often. Its hard to knock the team too much when it looks like Kentucky is gonna throttle everyone. The big lesson appears to be limit the Kentucky rushing attack - OU forced Kentucky to throw at a poor completion% and 2 INT, but allowed over 150 yards on the ground and 450+ total. Oklahoma State The Cowboys became the next Big 12 team to take on Washington State, and MY GOD someone needs to stop them from committing war crimes. Through 2 games, against respectable coaches/P5 opponents in Indiana and Wazzu, they're off to 46.5 ppg, only 11.5 ppg allowed, and its time to book the domain for Troy MARVIN THE MARTIAN, as he's out of this world. 891 passing yards, 9 TD, 12 XP, and FG. In 2 games. The boys from Stillwater also had FOUR different players haul in Marvin's 6 passing TDs this week, with Austin Duvernay-Tardiff and Colton Smith combining for over 300 receiving yards and 4 of the TDs. It was simply what could become one of Marvin's Marvels. ? Alright, we've talked about every other team, no one we're forget- Preseason 1st-Team QB Brandon Smith picked up yards but also struggled outside of a few big plays to WR Danny Cichy KSSTBrandon Smith24331996.0320143.38KSSTBrandon Smith21353038.6640170.43 Oh. OH. Kansas State Brandon Smith heard the challenge from the Week 1 Large Dozen and has responded with swagger, only turning up the notch with each passing week. He's gone for a 66% completion%, 502 yards, 7.38 yards/att, and 6 TD. These aren't quite Troy Marvin numbers, but, with no offense to @Swipet this team has much less supporting talent. Smith isn't here to respond to bulletin board material, though. He wants wins, he wants a team trophy, and he wants to be a future NFL starter. So far, he's responded accordingly to naysayers and criticisms - and he's going to be the face of the program when they hold up that crystal ball. He can feel it. Getting him there, though will come with support of many sidekicks. RB Mitchell Reynolds had 216 rushing yards at Southern Miss, which is why Smith didn't quite eclipse 200 yards in that game. ILB Ryan Hicks had 11 tackles and 3 TFL, and is a name to watch when it comes to national postseason awards. Danny Cichy just had a 214 yard, 3 TD game on Arizona State. Its hard to write a good, solid blurb about Kansas State because there's just so much to highlight. Which is why they're going to be in the thick of things come conference and playoff times, too. Draft Stock Report QB Brandon Smith, Kansas State We just talked a ton about how Smith has turned it on the last few weeks, leading the Wildcats to an impressive 3-0 start and putting up numbers. Smith's big dream is to be an NFL starting quarterback - and if he continues his early 2022 success through conference play, his name will go early on draft day, rather than as a mid round project. CB Anthony Shelton, TCU Shelton isn't solely to blame for TCU's blunder against Texas State, but any DB room allowing 500+ yards is going to come in with big red flags to NFL scouts. Mainly lined up against Texas State WR Sean Plutko, Shelton was largely responsible for Plutko's 7 receptions for 106 yards. Even when WR2 Cassanova Perrizo wasn't torching young TCU CB Curtis Billingsley for 221 yards, it was easy pickings for future Top 10 NFL pick Justin DeShields on Shelton. Shelton may have just been outmuscled at 6' 189 vs Plutko's 6'2" 224 - but that will only be enhanced at the pro level. We're going to need to see big things down the line if this performance is to be forgotten. P Brent Martin, West Virginia Martin was likely a long shot for the NFL anyway, but with early punting woes in the NFL, his Big 12 accolades (2021 2nd-Team P, 2022 Preseason 1st-Team P) could have been enough to at least get him into a camp. He's had two games back to back with just a combined 47.50 average, which ranks near the bottom nationally. This might be a wake up call to focus more on networking and his degree rather than pro aspirations, TE Trey Diaz, Iowa State Diaz isn't the most impressive tight end specimen at 6'4" but just 223, but his BIG day against Iowa of 9/165 has scouts talking. Playing in a more vertical or pass oriented scheme in the pros could see him excel. He's not terrible in blocking (although he hasn't quite needed to help too much with a very talented and decorated OL) but a team looking for a mid-late round flyer should take notice of what happened in the CyHawk.
  6. Q: is Dick Richards flying under the radar or is he just eyeing up the electric Big 12 as his future conference, and thus, a near lock to BYU?
  7. Vikings sign 1319 DE Zhaire Kouandjio [Practice Squad] Total Bonus 0.0M Year 1 Salary: 0.5M Year 2 Salary: 0.5M Year 3 Salary: 0.5M and Vikings promote from our own PS to active roster (keeping his same contract) 1416 CB LaRoy Crockett Total Bonus 0.0M Year 1 Salary: 0.5M Year 2 Salary: 0.5M Year 3 Salary: 0.5M
  8. Vikings confirm :stonks:
  9. Vikings looking to move TE John Hendrickson (75 ovr, 27 yo signed for next 3 years, A- Potential). Havent been able to get him as involved as Id like (just 2 targets in 2 games, lots of mouths to feed here). Looking for draft compensation and/or defensive help (but cant be expensive defensive help - moving Hendrickson would leave me with about 2.25 in space)
  10. MIN looking to move the following 59170 QB Patrick Hensley 58256 WR Santiago Mauricio 58837 TE Gregory Anderson 58006 OG Fernando Zapata (2 starts at RG) 34543 DT Brett Mattia 49893 ILB Keith Rappe what do these players offer you? -upgrade over some of your own pool players -veteran depth or low end starters why do I want to move them? -youll notice my roster has a lot of younger/rookie depth compared to others, this would be a way for me to build my team better the way I want, while giving you some more vets who can contribute as a replacement level player immediately Also looking to move 1858 CB Morgan Johnson (rookie) what does he offer you? -rookie -fit a zone scheme -A+ potential why do I want to move him? I wasnt able to make most of the draft and got a bunch of randoms drafted to me in the late rounds. It's not that I dont think Johnson cant be good, I just think he wont have the same opportunity here as he might elsewhere to shine what are we looking for? Picks. Combo some of those players or individually, Im open to listening
  11. Large Dozen The Big 12's Weekly Recap Show #14 TCU 21, #22 SMU 13 TCU came back in the 2nd half after a 6 point deficit through 2 quarters, with QB Andrew Solano putting up 283 yards and a TD to Oren Colon, who went 8-179 and the score. Solano pulled double duties as the teams kicker, going 3/3 on XP but missing a FG. Coach @Giambro may want to make a switch at the position. TCU's ground game was horrendous outside of two rushing TDs, and if they want to compete for a title, whether conference or nationally, they'll have to improve. #15 Kansas 20, Michigan 17 Despite a desperate effort by RB Fernando Blue, Michigan was sent home feeling, well, blue. Kansas ran the ball effectively with a 3-headed attack and their defense stifled most non-Blue rush attempts, while freshman kicker Jake Ramirez out-dueled 2-way kicker/punter Garrett Carlin, as the Jayhawks came away with their second OOC win ever. #25 Kansas State 16, Arkansas State 9 Preseason 1st-Team QB Brandon Smith picked up yards but also struggled outside of a few big plays to WR Danny Cichy, and the Wildcats were forced to rely on kicker Greg Wolf's 10 total points to put them ahead. It wasn't pretty but a win is a win and they'll likely have similar games throughout the season - ugly, tough contests played closely, but if Smith can catch fire, they'll find themselves competing for the conference. Iowa State 13, Arizona State 0 Iowa State leaned heavily on their impressive offensive line to grind out the W, and QB/K Justice Smith turned in enough of an efficient game manager performance to outlast the Sun Devils, passing for 239 yards, making 2/3 FG and 1/1 XP. WR David Cabrera could be one to watch for the rest of the season, as he moved the sticks consistently. #19 Oklahoma State 45, Indiana 16 Former Cowboy coach @kwheele left the Big 12 for the Big Ten, but his dominant squad from last year didn't stop beating up on his current competition, with the offense looking electric. This team can pass the ball, this team can run the ball, and they're looking to make noise and draw attention of a big name coach to come pioneer them to glory. QB/K Troy Marvin should be a Heisman darkhorse with his 372 passing yards, 3 TD, 6 XP, and FG. Texas 28, Toledo 15 Hanser Zagurski quarterbacked a "fuck it, chuck it" offense to the tune of 260 Yards, 4 TD, but 2 INT. Texas only carried the ball 12 times, but their defense is more than good enough to bail out such a low use of offensive clock. @joopear who coached Arizona through the spring and beat up on Bundy's KU squad, looks to keep the Longhorns in natty contention. Texas Tech 35, Buffalo 3 It was a long time coming for coach @rcarlson77 but there's no argument that their season opener was worth the wait. RB Glover Evans, a redshirt freshman playing for the first time in 2 years after coming to Lubbock by way of California high school, joined redshirt junior Xavier Means as the Red Raiders rushed for 4 TD. Miami (OH) 33, West Virginia 20 The Mountaineers lived and died by QB Shelby Musa, who tossed two tuddies to keep it tight, but also was picked 3 times which ultimately did them in. WVU actually led 17-16 going into the 4th, but Musa failed to be efficient and RB Chad Dolis' 143 yard rushing effort proved to be in vain. The good news is its a long season and there's plenty of room for coach @smackemz to fine tune the team. Big 12 Large Dozen of the Week Every week, 12 players conference-wide will be highlighted for their top performances. HM. P Hercules Phillips, Texas: 9 Punts, 58.33 avg, 5 inside 20 yes there's honorable mention this week, sue me. Phillips boomed the ball like a mad man and deserved recognition 12. RB Cody Casspi, Kansas: 14 carries, 92 yards, 6.57 avg, 1 TD; 2 Receptions on 4 Targets, 29 Yards 11. RB Johnny Young, Iowa State: 29 carries, 125 yards, 4.31 avg, 1 TD; 5 Receptions on 6 Targets, 51 Yards 10. DE Zack Luke, Kansas: 4 Tackles, 1 Asst. Tackle, 3.5 TFL, 1.0 Sax 9. DE Jawun Hilton, Oklahoma State: 4 Tackles, 4 TFL, 1.0 Sax 8. DE Dallas Dobbs, Texas: 3 Tackles, 2 Asst. Tackles, 1.5 TFL, 0.5 Sax, FF 7. ILB Ezekiel "Ziggy" Sands, Kansas: 9 Tackles, 1 Asst. Tackle, 4.5 TFL 6. WR Oren Colon, TCU: 8 Receptions on 12 Targets, 179 Yards, 1 TD 5. ILB Austin Rosario, Texas: 11 Tackles, 2 Asst. Tackles, 4 TFL 4. WR Austin Duvernay-Tardif, Oklahoma State: 7 Receptions on 9 Targets, 127 Yards, 2 TD 3. RB Glover Evans, Texas Tech: 16 carries, 113 yards, 7.06 avg, 3 TD; 4 Receptions on 6 Targets, 57 Yards 2. RB Jerry Davis, Oklahoma State: 17 carries, 165 yards, 9.71 avg, 3 TD; 8 Receptions on 10 Targets, 66 Yards 1. QB Troy Marvin, Oklahoma State: 35/52 (67.30%) 372 yards (7.15 avg) 3 TD, 0 INT; 6/6 XP, 1/2 FG, 33 Long (miss from 41) Draft Stock Report DE Dallas Dobbs, Texas Dobbs is a jack of all trades edge controller who may sneak into early round contention. He doesn't have a ton of upside, but could be as plug and play as a DE comes. WR Austin Duvernay-Tardif, Oklahoma State Last week I thought Tim McCrae of the Sooners established himself as the premier red zone receiver of the conference, but Tardif has the size, ceiling, and now stats to go in the top half of the 1st round. Obviously there's a lot of season left and then pre-draft processes, but even an average 40 or vertical could place him into Top 5 contention. With the Carolina Panthers making big moves, @Sarge should keep his eyes on the hyphenated-prize, the missing Link for his franchise QB. QB Shelby Musa, West Virginia Musa's struggles against a MAC opponent aren't good news for a team that has to go on a 5-games stretch of Oklahoma-TCU-road game-road game-road game to close the season. Fortunately, those games aren't even on the radar right now, with games at Liberty and at Army as chances to show improvement and potential. But Musa right now might be in UDFA territory. RB Bene' Humber, Kansas Humber was all-conference last year and this preseason, but the emergence of redshirt sophomore Cody Casspi led to very little use of Humber in Week 1 against Michigan, as coach @Bundy turned to Casspi, fullback Marcell Maysonet, and the dual-threat of Tyler Summers to pound the rock. 3 carries for 3 yards, a fumble, and 1 catch for 5 yards on 2 targets don't necessarily give the coach any reason to shift away from that. He did contribute 58 punt return yards with a long of 20. His usage could be a blessing in disguise too - putting less reps on his odometer and the potential to be Junior Ogbah'd with a team taking him in the late 1st.
  12. Oh wow Monday Night Football for our first ever home game ? can’t wait to get Joe and Troy sauced
  13. the only one upset will be Kevin Vangrinsven when he finds out someone can not play for a different team than they own ?
  14. oh wow Top 10 Kansas ? makes me anxious but in the way you're walking to the plate with the bases loaded down 2
  15. Fresh off their Week 1 victory over the Green Bay Packers, the Minnesota Vikings faced perhaps their toughest matchup yet... an early bye week. With the beauty of autumn and abundant leaf color change along the Mississippi River, many Vikings toured down from the Cities to the rivertowns on the state's east side. For linebacker Kevin Vangirinsven, it became more of a drunken political campaign than anything. With the rumor of a new front office in Green Bay looming, Vangrinsven said he wanted to throw himself into the ring as the People's Choice. With important stops in key border cities like Wabasha and Winona, Vangrinsven made sure to sign plenty of autographs and started handing out yard signs and bumper stickers mocking the rival team. He took it one step further, crossing the river into enemy territory, traveling to Myrick Park in La Crosse and along the marsh, making a speech to great fanfare that could strengthen Vikings territory into at least the western reaches of the Dairy State. Slurring his words, likely related to the bottle of Grainbelt Nordeast that he hoisted into the air, he said that he refused to acknowledge the naming of @Suffocation as Packers president; "I will not be purchasing a share of the Green Bay Packers, I don't need to, I'm already their owner on the field!" While it's unclear how the Wisconsin side of the river truly took the chaos, it is of note that the La Crosse Dick's Sporting Goods did start offering a hefty inventory of Vangrinsven jerseys. Rookie Report While no rookies were able to record any stats of note this week due to the bye, Vikings rookie 1st round selection Alex Williams III returned to the UW-Madison campus with former Badger and current Viking teammates Le'veon Caminero and Austin Bishop. The Badgers held an open date of their own, but the Vikings rookie trio were at Camp Randall to promote the Camp Randall Classic, a sort of Badgers season hype kickoff followed by a game between WIAA Division 2 teams Brookfield Central and Racine Horlick. Brookfield Central is led by 2-star QB Thomas Bartlett, while Horlick featured 1-star QB James Murphy and top Wisconsin recruit, 4-star P Craig Lonergan. He's no David Ross, but he's certainly the pride of Milwaukee-area football right now.
  16. I don’t know how hard transfers would be to implement but I crooted over my kicker from last year and would like to see him get a shot elsewhere at some point, whether that be direct to FCS, or to JuCo allowing him to be crooted again, or Portal’d to an FBS team.
  17. With the Green Bay front office collapsing into a puppet state earlier this year, it was no surprise to Minnesota faithful that they'd be favorites against the Cheeseheads to start the season. That said, there were still uneasy and nervous feelings prior to kickoff on Sunday. Vikings captains Paul Gurule, Mathew Madden, and Paul Munford walked to the 50 yard line for the coin toss and were cheered by a rabid swarm of Vikings fans who had made the trip over to Lambeau. For Green Bay, the captainship received no ovation at all, which seemed to set the tone for the game. "We were expecting a deafening home crowd to really drown us out, and then when that happened, we knew we had it in the bag," quipped Madden during post game media interviews. The Vikings won the coin toss, chose to receive, and then used that energy to march on a 14 play drive that churned through over 6 minutes of the games opening quarter, culminating in a 1-yard dump off from QB Christian Sinnock to Gurule. Sinnock struggled through 2 preseason games, though the only offensive starters he truly played with were WR3 1st rounder Alex Williams III and C Darren Willard, so it was exciting for Vikings fans to see what he's capable of with a full arensal. Minnesota's defense came in clutch on their first drive, forcing a 3-and-out that truly quieted the green-clad home fans. The Minnesota fans soon became those drowning out the Green Bay players, with rookie RB Cooper McGough icing his 2021 College Football Rushing Title, scampering for a 37-yard score on the 2nd Vikings drive and putting them up 14-0. It was over from that point on. Midway point through the 3rd quarter, the frustrations truly boiled over for the Packers. Punter Ralph Meek, disagreeing with the decision to punt down 17-0 from the Vikings 33, absolutely boomed a punt that maybe the field crew should have put up the net in the goal posts for. Meeks punt hammered off his foot, straight down the field but soaring past the goal line, past the end line, through the goal posts, and eventually landing in the bleachers about 60 feet up. The CBS sideline reporter asked him about it, and all Meek had to say was "souvenir ball." Rookie Report Though the Vikings offseason series FAN or MANkato came to an abrupt halt due to unforeseen time constraints, it was clear that UDFA Oswaldo Urrutia was the biggest standout from camp amongst the rookies. Urruita posted 31-728-11 at Alabama last year, and had a more than solid preseason, going 12-137. The Vikings believe in him enough to officially name him MANkato, and he received important reps during this opening regular season contest, carrying the ball for 19 yards. The Vikings have traded WR4 Tracey Borders to Washington in an attempt to get the ball to Urrutia even more. Cooper McGough, of course, had the rushing touchdown in the 1st quarter, and though he's splitting time with veteran Bruno Hansen, who sees the bulk of the carries, he still managed 7 carries for 59 yards and the TD. Hyped rookie Alex Williams III did exactly what he was drafted to do, stretching the field for 4 receptions for 72 yards. Defensively, UDFA CB J.P. Cunningham finished with 3 tackles, and DE Mitch Rivers had an assisted tackle. Rookie kicker and late signee Robin Reynolds faired better than his short lived UDFA predecessor, going 2/2 on XP and making 2/3 FGs, with the miss coming from 44, which is proving to be not a gimmee kick across the league. Returner Bryn Moore finished with one kick return for 23 yards, and one punt return for 15 yards. A rookie who did NOT play well was one all to familiar to the Vikings front office. Have You Seen Me? former Jayhawks receiver Junior Ogbah was selected by the Packers in the 1st Round. Though we can't confirm, rumors with Vikings insiders say that the Vikings didn't view Ogbah as being worth more than a mid-3rd round selection. Ogbah didn't due anything bulletin board material wise in the debut, struggling to just 2 receptions for 12 yards on 5 targets, with one of those targets being snatched in by savvy Vikings vet Marcos Maldonado. Kansas coach @Bundy has been quiet regarding Ogbah following a media driven explosion of drama surrounding Ogbah's sitting out of Kansas' Pro Day, during which the coach did not hold back with reporters about the advice he'd given Ogbah, and how it hadn't been followed. A massive rift between the 2021 Preseason All-American and the school has grown since, with many in the Jayhawks locker room seeming excited that Ogbah is gone. Senior Kansas receiver Adam Williams, with whom Ogbah shared an apartment last year, even tweeted a pic of him and new roomie Marcell Maysonet with the caption a breath of fresh air. Vikings corner Maldonado brushed off the drama aspect, saying "none of us care about any of that - what matters is that we blanked our so called 'rival' on their turf in the first game ever for either team, and that's something you can't take away from us ever. You always remember your first - we get to remember it fondly for the rest of our lives, and they have to look back in disgust." The Vikings got screwed by the League and have a Week 2 Bye ? so they'll use this weekend to rest and get better settled into Minneapolis, before Tracey Borders returns to Minnesota with his new team in a Week 3 showdown between Washington and Minnesota that deserves top billing.
  18. Poor UConn fans, late west coast kickoff that probably won’t even be on Tv due to Penn State and Ohio State also being out there
  19. Large Dozen The Big 12's Weekly Recap Show #9 Texas State 20, #8 Baylor 3 Baylor struggled to generate offense through the air, having to depend almost entirely on the ground game to move the ball. QB Travis Knebel struggled mightily, and continued lack of performance might see coach @Vivid send him down the depth chart. Playing a Top 10 team on the road is always grounds for a rough debut, but for a team with championship aspirations, Knebel simply might not be ready to be a complete part of the offense. He certainly can run the ball, though. #4 Oklahoma 40, #13 Tulsa 13 Oklahoma has had talent and potential the last two years - but not a worthy coach until now. Coach @ChicagoTed1 has his squad off to an impressive start, and unlike Baylor, having a new signal caller still has Oklahoma gunning for a Natty. The offense looks potent, and the defense did its job. Big 12 Large Dozen of the Week Congratulations to the inaugural selections for "Big 12 Large Dozen of the Week." Every week, 12 players conference-wide will be highlighted for their top performances. 12. ILB Wilking Madrigal, Oklahoma: 7 tackles, 2 TFL 11. WR Raymond Norris, Baylor: 7 receptions on 9 targets, 84 yards 10. SS Garrett Smith, Baylor: 8 tackles, 3 TFL 9. K Kyle Vaccaro, Oklahoma: 4/4 XP, 4/5 FG, 37 Long 8. P Algernon Celestin, Oklahoma: 4 Punts, 57.75 avg, 1 inside 20 7. RB Alex Neary, Oklahoma: 6 carries, 78 yards, 13.00 avg; 2 receptions on 3 targets, 12 yards 6. QB Travis Knebel, Baylor (as a runner): 14 carries, 125 yards, 8.93 avg 5. WR Justin Neary, Oklahoma: 8 receptions on 11 targets, 124 yards 4. WR Tim McRae, Oklahoma: 7 receptions on 11 targets, 86 yards, 2 TD 3. ILB Antwaun Vaccaro, Baylor: 14 tackles, 4 TFL 2. RB Mat Moore, Oklahoma: 27 carries, 141 yards, 5.22 avg 1. QB Pace Frandsen, Oklahoma: 32/45 (71.11%) 332 yards (7.38 avg) 4 TD, 0 INT Draft Stock Report ILB Antwuan Vaccaro, Baylor Despite Baylor's loss, Vaccaro showed an impressive knack at getting to the ball carrier, and the Jehu Ginn pedigree lives on. QB Pace Frandsen, Oklahoma Frandsen shredded Tulsa at a Heisman pace, and while its too early to declare him the "real deal", this performance alone could place him in the mid rounds. Repeated success would send him higher. RB Dietrich Smith, Baylor Smith is going to need to finish strong over the last 11 games if he wants to go before the late rounds. He was unimpressive last year in efficiency (3.86 avg over 275 carries) and he's started worse this year. Unless he has an off the charts combine, or becomes a concerning reach, he'll need to prove that its the scheme holding him back - but a run heavy scheme proving tough for a Power RB spells disaster.
